This September, we will head to Camp Daniel Boone for September 11-13. As was discussed at the last PLC, we are shifting our backpacking trips to the fall and Camp Daniel Boone allows us to offer backpacking for those interested AND normal camping for those who prefer not to backpack.
Here are the two different options:
- Backpackers: 12-mile trip that covers part of the Art Loeb Trail, one of NC's most popular backpacking trails, including visiting the Shining Rock, and the Little East Fork Trail, which passes the headwaters of the Pigeon River. This trek starts and end inside of Camp Daniel Boone.
- Traditional Camping: Weekend of patrol camping with normal cooking and the opportunity to spend time in one of Scouting America's most popular camps and highest elevation camp east of the Mississippi River.
Meals for each section will be very different. For the traditional campers, food will be prepared by patrols. For backpackers, each hiker will be responsible for their own meals.
The cost for this trip is dependent on which option is selected
