    Mental Health Liberation: Liberatory Student Support Circle
  • Thank you for applying to be a Mentorship-Provider (Provider) to participants of Mental Health Liberation Therapy's Liberatory Student Support Circle (Student). We are grateful for your generous services.

    About Program: Nurturing BI&POC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) students studying mental health, social work, and psychology, we’re uplifting the next generation of mental health advocates and activists.

    Mentorship-Providers are Independent Contractors and will receive a 1099-NEC form at year-end for tax purposes if invoices paid total to $600+ that year. Service-Providers are not employees of Mental Health Liberation.

    The current compensation rate is: $125 per mentorship office hour

    This Agreement and Terms of Service will outline the program and answer some questions that you may have. Please read it carefully and let us know if you have any additional questions. We appreciate you for being here!

  • Mentorship Office Hours

    • Supporting Black, Indigenous or Students of Color purusing careers in the mental health field
      1. Mentorship-Providers will offer a list of office hour topics for students to choose from
      2. Students can request an office hour from the list of topics
      3. MHL team will reach out to the Provider with the request. Upon Provider's approval, MHL will connect the Student with the Provider
      4. The Student and Provider will connect through email to set up a virtual meeting time
      5. Upon confirming a virtual meeting time, the Student will announce the office hour to the student support circle to invite others to participate
        1. The Student and Provider will jointly decide on the maximum number of participants
      6. The Provider will host the virtual office hour in support of the Students

  • Invoicing and Compensation

    • The Provider will be compensated $125 per office hour.
    • Invoicing and payment will be processed through Bill.com.
    • The Provider is responsible to submit their invoice after each office hour through Bill.com.
    • Invoices will be reviewed and paid within 7 office days.
    • The Organization reserves the right to discontinue the Provider or Student's participation in incidents of ethical, policy, or safety violations.

     

    No-Show or Late Cancellations

    • The Student is expected to provide the Provider with at minimum 48-hours notice to cancel an office hour. If the Student does not provide at least 48-hours notice or if the Student does not show (“no-show”) for their office hour, the Provider will be compensated with the full fee.
      • In the situation of a no-show or late cancellation, the Provider will inform the Organization when submitting their invoice to receive full payment for the missed office hour.
    • If other students have signed up to participate: the Provider is encouraged to proceed with the office hour and is not required to reschedule
      • If the Provider wishes to reschedule with the Student that initially requested but no-showed, please first inform the MHL team
      • The Provider may extend exceptions according to their policies (e.g. in the case of chronic pain, illness, work changes, emergencies, unexpected childcare needs, etc.).
        • The Organization entrusts the decision on what qualifies as an exception to be made between the Provider and Student. In such situations, the Provider and Student will inform the Organization on an equitable solution decided between them.
    • Students that late-cancel or no-show, without taking adequate steps towards repair, may forgo their privilege to sign up for office hours in the future.
