This Translation Agreement outlines the terms regarding the treatment of ministry resources owned by Via Nations (Formerly CMM, Weave, and Support Raising Solutions). This license is only for translation and does not authorize printing rights. To print a translated resource, please submit a printing application.
Via Nations asks that all translators agree to the terms below and fully understand that all rights and ownership of the translated resource belong to the CMM.
- Via Nations retains exclusive copyright and ownership of the translated resource. Translators, whether volunteering or compensated, are performing their services as a ‘Work for Hire,’ as noted in U.S. copyright law.
- Printings of the translated resource require a separate Licensing Agreement.
Digital versions of translated resources may only be hosted on CMM maintained websites, to ensure future versions can be updated. Ministry partners may directly link the digital version of the resource to their website.
- Translators may not share digital or print files of the resource with others without written permission from Via Nations.
- Translation work must be completed using a translation template provided by Via Nations.
- All Translations must be done within the translation software Redokun. Via staff will set up translators with access to their project within Redokun.
- Translators may not alter the author’s meaning, except for minor issues of vernacular.
- Any concepts, sections, or images that require contextualization must be submitted to Via Nations for discussion and approval.
- Each resource has words and/or phrases that carry specific meaning for the context of mobilization. Translators are responsible for utilizing a Via Nations provided glossary of terms in translating keywords and phrases used within the resource to maintain the original intent and compatibility with other mission and mobilization resources.
- Via Nations maintains the right to make content changes or translation updates at any time.
- Via Nations agrees to properly credit translators in the translated resource.
- All translated Via resources are to be typeset and published by the Via.
