Thank you for your interest in fostering for Moby Kit Rescue! We are a no-kill, foster-based 501C3 animal rescue servicing the Southcoast Region of Massachusetts. We focus our efforts on homeless/orphaned kittens but will occasionally take in adult and senior cats. We will help wherever we can!

As a note:
- We cannot guarantee that we will have an animal to place with you. If your application is approved, you will be contacted if we require your assistance.
- We are only looking for individuals that can commit to being a long-term foster. If you are interested in a foster-to-adopt scenario, please email MobyKitRescue@gmail.com
- Fosters are not paid wages or a salary. This is a volunteer-only position.
- Fosters are responsible for transporting their foster cat to and from the vet for any medical appointments. This role is not recommended for individuals that do not have their own method of transport.
- As a newly formed foster-based rescue, we require all fosters to be able and willing to provide the basic necessities to their foster cat(s) including but not limited to: food, water, litter, toys, foster cage(s), carrier(s).
- All fosters must commit to fostering only for Moby Kit Rescue. This is standard for many animal rescues and helps to prevent un-vaccinated and un-tested animals from mingling with the foster animals.

Moby Kit Rescue is an all volunteer, non-profit that relies on donations to survive. Because of this, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to provide supplies like food, litter and pet supplies on a regular basis. We will distribute supplies to our fosters as they are donated to us, but require all of our fosters to be able and willing to provide food, litter and basic supplies for their kittens in the event that donations are low. However all veterinary care and medication will be provided by Moby Kit Rescue.

I understand that Moby Kit Rescue has limited information regarding the temperament and habits of the animals in their care. When meeting any Moby Kit Rescue animal, I hereby waive, release, discharge, and hold harmless Moby Kit Rescue and its agents, employees, directors, representatives and other volunteers charged or chargeable with liability, from any and all claims, damages, costs, expenses, loss of services, actions, and causes of actions, whether known or unknown, belonging to me, my heirs, agents and assigns, due to any action or occurrences or damage which arises in connection with my foster activities, including, but not limited to cat bites to me, my pets, members of my household or others whether or not alleged to be caused or contributed to by the NEGLIGENCE of Moby Kit Rescue or its volunteers. I acknowledge the risks involved in adopting or taking custody of rescue animals or any animals due to their natural propensities.

I understand that it is my responsibility to ensure that the foster cat(s) is kept separate from my other pet(s) and family member(s) until it is fully tested and vaccinated. Moby Kit Rescue cannot be held liable for any invalid test results performed. It is my responsibility to ensure that I am following proper cleaning and sanitation protocols to ensure that parasites, viruses and/or infectious diseases are not passed from the foster cat(s) to my pet(s) and vice versa. I agree that it is my full responsibility to ensure that the foster cat(s) is receiving the appropriate care, medication, and diet that was communicated to me by Moby Kit Rescue.

Kittens are to remain strictly indoors during their time in foster care. They should not be left alone with small children or other animals in the household no matter how much you trust them.

I understand that I cannot foster for another shelter/rescue in addition to Moby Kit Rescue. This is to ensure that cats/kittens are kept separate from other un-vaccinated and/or un-tested animals, which helps prevents the spread of contagions and illness. I understand that if I am found to be fostering animals for another shelter/rescue in addition to the animals from Moby Kit Rescue, I will be asked to leave the rescue and my foster animals will be transferred to another foster family at Moby Kit Rescue.
