Patti & Mike Garcia and their crew started the Poker Ride in 2001 as a one-day event, which was so popular, it evolved into a grand 2-day camping event fundraiser. Patti, Mike and their crew ran the Poker Ride fundraiser for 18 years before retiring and handing over the reins. 25 years later the club keeps their tradition alive. As thanks for their unselfish hard work in making the Poker Ride & Campout the success it is today, we will be honoring them at this year's event. So join us in thanking them at the 25th Anniversary!

The Monterey Bay Equestrians is proud to announce the Poker Ride & Campout Fundraiser 25th Anniversary Celebration at the Los Robles Horse Camp at Lake San Antonio North Shore, April 24-26, 2026.

THIS FUNDRAISER USUALLY SELLS OUT EACH YEAR SO DON'T DELAY IN REGISTERING AND MISSING OUT ON ALL THE FUN, FUN, FUN!!
REGISTRATION:
- $290 per person
- $75 Kids 10 years old and younger (infants/toddlers under 2 FREE)
- $75 Saturday Day Use Only (includes day use fee, dinner, trail riding, arena games, 25th Anniversary commemorative gift, 1 poker hand and 1 beverage ticket)
- $55 Thursday Early Arrival (Volunteers/Board/Committee/Sponsors only).
- $30/$60 Corral Reservation
Full registration includes 2 nights camping and all camp amenities, catered meals from Friday dinner to Sunday breakfast (including gratuity), 1 free poker hand per registered adult, 25th Anniversary commemorative gift, 1 drink ticket per adult for the wine & champagne bar, arena games with ribbons and prizes, and live entertainment featuring the popular Neighborhood Katz Band from Paso Robles. Bring plenty of cash/checks/credit card for the live and silent auctions, purchase more poker hands and MBE swag.
Registration deadline: Wednesday, April 15, 2026. No prorated rates or discounts for late arrivals and/or early departures.
REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY:
- Cancel before Friday, April 10: Full refund minus $50 processing fee
- Cancel between April 10 - April 15: Refund ONLY if event is sold out and we can replace your regsitration from the waitlist (if applicable).
- Cancel after April 15: NO TRANSFERS/CHANGES/REFUNDS

THE EVENT DOESN'T START UNTIL NOON FRIDAY. NO EARLY CAMPING/ARRIVALS UNLESS YOU ARE A VOLUNTEER/SPONSOR/BOARD OR COMMITTEE MEMBER. Thursday reservations for early arrival must be made when you register.
CAMP AMENITIES: Los Robles Horse Camping amenities include hot showers, restrooms, corrals, some trees for hi-lining, water for horses, arena, round pen, campsites, manure bunkers with wheelbarrows & rakes, miles of trails.
CORRALS: You can reserve a corral to guarantee you have a place for your horse. If you do not reserve a corral, there is plenty of room for portable corrals and some trees for hi-lining. See the information enclosed on how the corral reservations will work and to reserve a corral.
Trail ride the many trails while taking in the views and wildflowers at Lake San Antonio North Shore. A Long Trail permit is required to ride the trails at Lake San Antonio. You must carry the long trail permit with you while riding the trails. It is your responsibility to obtain the permit to trail ride. For instructions on how to get your trail permit, CLICK HERE. Put on your best saloon girl costume or gunslinger costume Saturday and get into the fun while playing poker Prize for best costume.
We have some great auction items and poker prizes including portable corral, commemorative 25th Anniversary Belt Buckle, saddles, tack, Royal Legacy custom leather bridle, vacation getaways, horse paintings and photographs by various artists, grooming kits, wine and booze baskets, vet baskets, gift certificates, jewelry, Rancho Mustafino horseshoe art, attraction tickets and much more!
This is a fundraising event. The Monterey Bay Equestrians club is the voice for over 300 members. Thanks to our 2025 donors, sponsors & participants, we've allocated $16,900 in 2026 to equine related charities including Stardust Sanctuary, Sunrise Horse Rescue, Land Trust of Santa Cruz County, Friends of Bear Creek Stables, Center for Animal Protection & Education (CAPE), Horseplay Youth, Inc., Sea Star Horse Sanctuary, Healing Heroes with Horsemanship and Jack Brooks Horse Camp.
