OFFICER POSITIONS:
President:
Call and preside over all meetings; Vote on new members, and break ties for other votes; Be responsible for chapter orientation; Ensure new officers are trained and that officer transition takes place; Send required chapter reports to the National Office; Delegating tasks among all members of the chapter.
Vice President for Membership:
Collaborate with Communications/Marketing Chair to increase chapter visibility on campus and spread awareness about Mortar Board membership; Coordinate the application (or work with National Office to utilize the national application); Organize and implement selection; Co-coordinate tapping and initiation of new members with the Executive Secretary/Traditions Chair, with help from all other members of the chapter; Assist the President; Perform the duties of the President in case of absence or departure; Do other duties as needed.
Communications/Marketing Chair:
Be responsible for chapter publicity; Post graphics on social media and around campus; Create social media events, flyers for volunteers and attendees; Act as correspondent to the Mortar Board Forum and submit updates two times per year; Do other duties as needed.
Treasurer/Fundraising Chair:
Have charge of all finances, collect fees, and pay bills; Ensure chapter finances are strong and cover all relevant chapter dues and programming; Plan chapter fundraisers, if needed; Submit a report to the chapter regularly; Write and submit the chapter financial report to the National Office; Do other duties as needed.
Executive Secretary & Traditions Chair:
Keep the minutes of each meeting; notify members and advisors of each meeting; Keep record of events and the history of the chapter; update history with National Office; Take pictures at meetings and events, and collect them from others; Act as liaison with alumni members. Maintain a mailing list of chapter alumni for both local and National Office records; Assist VP of Membership with tapping new members (continuing this tradition or creating new tradition); Do other duties as needed.
Social & Service Chair:
Work with community partners and campus groups to identify service opportunities; Be responsible for planning and executing service opportunities; Collaborate with the Communications/Marketing Chair to advertise service events; Collaborate with the Executive Secretary/Traditions Chair to track service participation and log hours, collect photos, and document the events; Plan all chapter bonding events throughout the year.
