    • THIS IS AN AGREEMENT. NOT A CONTRACT.

    About Mows & Hoes: We are committed to providing our customers with quality customer service and exceptional lawn care.  We currently offer the following services; Mowing/Edging & Blowing, Bush Trimming, Fall / Spring Clean Up, Gutter Clean Out's, Mulch / Rock Installation, Natural Grass Patching, Weed Control, Lawn Treatment and more to come. Please read our company's agreement policies which make Mows & Hoes who we are today!

    Hours: Mows & Hoes will be open Monday-Friday from 7am-8pm (during season hours) Hours may be subject to change throughout the season due to various reasons.

    Season: Mows & Hoes crew members hours of operations will be active starting the first monday in April through the first week of November. Your employment will be determined based on business needs.

    Closures: Mows & Hoes will be closed for extreme weather conditions and hours will differ for all major holidays. Mows & Hoes is scheduled to be closed on ALL Sundays but for business needs, you may receive a request for unfinished or special scheduled appointments. Pay may be affected.

    Training: Before you start, you will be required to complete an entry online training course. Once this entry online training course has been completed, you will receive hands on training at the job site.

    On-Site Training: Once you have effectively completed your entry online training course and have been approved, you will spend a minimum of two weeks working with your crew member(s) applying the knowledge you learned during the online training for out on the job site. While working on site, you will learn how to provide customers with every service we provide, the Mows & Hoes way!

    At Home Job Trainig: Applying for an at home job with us, i.e; HR or Finance Department, you will be required to complete an online video chat. If you have applied for one of these positions, more information will be sent for your training completion.

    Schedules: You have the option to pick and choose when you want to work! Our schedules are posted every week and every schedule is up for grabs to any crew member who wants to work only a few hours, days, or wants to make BANK! (You will learn more about how this works during your on site training.)

    Time off: If you need to request time off, please do so at least 48 hrs before your next scheduled shift. Otherwise, you may not be approved. If you are not approved, you are expected to show up to your shift unless you find another crew member to cover your shift by “swapping shifts” in the scheduling app. Not showing up to your scheduled shift can lead to termination of employement with Mows & Hoes and JLS Contracting, LLC.

    Employee Flexibility: Your availability matters! When or if you need to request time off, please do so at least 7 days (1 week) prior to your requested time and scheduled work day. You will also be asked to imput a reason for any of your requested time off whether it’s for vacation time, family time, or “other” time off. Time off requests will be requested in the scheduling app.

    Company Flexibility: Mows & Hoes has a few other businesses within the company you can request to work for to either make extra money or get experience in different fields. You can swap your shifts within your company with other members through our conglomerate businesses with the scheduling app. Feel free to contact us if you’re interested or for more details.

    Weather: Appointments will be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather (thunder, lightning, pouring rain, hail, etc.)

    Inclement Weather: Spring, Summer and Fall are notorious for storms and inclement weather. Mows & Hoes will operate during light rain and sprinkles, but any threatening weather conditions such as lightning, hail, heavy rain, heavy snow, etc. or even sounds of thunder will require all crews on site to stop work for a maximum of 30 minutes before closing up for the day. While on site, you must pause work and report to a safe and dry location.

    Incomplete Job: For any reason a job was not completed or was not able to be started for the day, you will need to contact your manager ASAP.

    While Driving: Be aware and know your Virginia laws! You are required to take and pass a current Virginia DMV drivers test before you start work with us. Failing the test can be a reason for us to not bring you on our team.

    Heat Stress: During the summer, weather conditions can reach dangerous temperatures for outdoor working conditions. If you feel the need to take a break due to heat exhaustion, find somewhere shady and cool off, grab yourself a bottle of water to drink and take a rest. If you are not well after a temporary break, be sure to communicate with your manager about the situation.

    Payroll: Pay is bi-weekly and is based on each appointment you have fulfilled. Your check will be determined baised off of how many lawns you do in a day and/or the amount of time you have spent on the properties.

    Tips: Tips that are submitted by the customer will be applied to your paycheck. The employee and/or crew member onsite will receive 100% of the customers tip. Tips will be divided equally among those who were scheduled on site. Tips will be factored in with your pay stub.

    Bonuses: During your hard work throughout the summer; good reviews, high sales, etc. will determine a possible pay increase into your check at the end of the season.

    Some have earned up to $500 CASH!!

    Clothing/Apparel: Please dress accordingly, you are performing manual labor. Uniforms are not provided, but are for sale! You will be given the option to purchase apparel after your entry online training course has been completed. 

    Enforced: Closed toe shoes ONLY! Shoes that are similar to flip flops, sandles, and other brands like Crocs, HeyDudes and Sanuk are prohibited). You must wear socks that cover or go above the ankle if your shoes do not. Pants or shorts of any kind are allowed and long or short sleeve shirts for each job at all times.

    Allowed: Mask, Sunglasses, Hats, Earbuds/Headphones and some additional wear are allowed. (Earbuds must be wireless or the wire must run through the inside of the front or back of your shirt.)

    Personal Information: Giving out personal information such as personal phone number(s), personal email(s), personal address, or even your schedule to anyone is prohibited. Doing so will lead to job termination from Mows & Hoes and JLS Contracting, LLC. entirely. Mows & Hoes or JLS Contracting LLC can terminate you for behavoir that is prohibited or terminate you and / or your job position at any time without any reason. 

    Equipment: Equipment must be kept in or on the vehicle at the job site or customers back property when not in use. If the back property is not accessible, equipment should be kept in crew member(s) eye sight or locked up to avoid being stolen.

    Mows & Hoes is NOT going to cover ANY lost, broken, or stolen equipment of your own.

    Vehicle: Mows & Hoes is not responsible for any damage done to any personal vehicles. Company private insurance doesn’t cover any part of vehicles that would void warranty or insurance coverage.

    Vehicle must be Virginia DMV registered & insured. Vehicle must have current state inspection in the state of Virginia as well.

    Maintenance: You will be notified automatically when it's time for maintenance on equipment. If there happens to be anything concerning about the equipment, contact your manager.

    Preventive Maintenance (PM): You will be contacted to bring lawn equipment in for cleaning, fluid check up's, etc. so the lawn equipment will be running in tip top shape! It is free of charge through JLS Contracting, LLC. Please make sure you are periodically maintaining lawn equipment used during your scheduled appointments.

    (Product resources used for your own equipment must be provided by Mows & Hoes. Using your own gasoline, oil, weed eater string, etc. or filling up gas and purchasing weed eater string or any other purchase of your own for persoanl or work may not be covered nor reimbursed by Mows & Hoes and / or JLS Contracting, LLC.

    Responsibilities: You are responsible for showing up to all scheduled shifts starting at the company time. If you do not comply with these hours, that may result in job termination. You are responsible for showing up to each job with the proper clothing applying with the Mows & Hoes apparel regulations.

    Customer Decor:  Please be aware of your surroundings, where you walk, step, or use equipment while maneuvering around the property. Do not break or damage any customers lawn decor, supplies / items or other property of theirs. If so, contact your manager immediately and let the customer know if they happen to be around. If the customer is not home you may leave the job site (after a manager has been contacted). Once the job has been complete, a manager will be in contact with the customer.

    Wildlife: If in any event there is wildlife such as bunnies, skinks (lizards), frogs, or even homeowners pets, avoid them by guiding them out of the way or gently moving them if necessary. Be sure that if for any reason there is a dead animal and/or creature, please contact your manager immediately.

     

    Liability: Lawn service can be very dangerous believe it or not. Standing on ladders, using tools that can cut skin, flesh, or even limb(s) off is all something we never want to happen, but unfortunately it can. While using equipment and being on site, be aware of all your surroundings!

    JLS CONTRACTING LLC IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY INJURIES ON SITE

    JLS Contracting, LLC. Mows & Hoes is owned & operated by Justin’s Lawn Service Contracting, LLC (JLS Contracting, LLC.) By being employed for Mows & Hoes, you can receive the benefits, discounts, and employment opportunities, etc. through the other businesses affiliated with Mows & Hoes. This means you are in the JLS employment system so you can request to work at any of our other businesses if wanted! We're happy to see that you are joining our team!     You will have to sign and agree to the Mows & Hoes Guidelines & Regulations. Once you are approved of this process and contacted back, you will be applied with online and in person or video chat training. It is very important you are aware of our Guidelines & Regulations and signed for everything documented above.
