ARTICLE III - MEMBERSHIP AND FEES
Section 1. Regular Member.A regular member is a graduate from any MSU campus with a post- secondary education degree or diploma. The annual dues of each regular member is US$50.00, or as resolved by the MSUAA-NA Board of Directors. Portion of which, will be remitted to the MSUAA national office as part of the Chapter’s annual dues.
Section 2. Associate Member. Any person who has been a student of any of the MSU campuses but has not earned a post-secondary education degree or diploma, provided that he or she applies for an associate membership, and pays the required annual fee of US$25.00, or as resolved by the MSUAA-NA Board of Directors.
Section 3. Adopted Member. An adopted member is any member of the family of the regular member provided that he or she applies as an adopted member and pays the annual membership fee of US$25.00 or conferred as such by the MSUAA-NA Board of Directors.
Section 4. Honorary Member. An honorary member is a former member of the faculty and administration of the University or any individual who has contributed significantly to the interest of the Chapter, which shall be defined by the Membership Committee, and conferred honorary membership by the Board of Directors.
Section 5. Member in Good Standing. A regular, associate, or adopted member is considered a member in good standing if he or she (a) is an active member of an MSUAA-NA regional chapter in good standing and (b) pays the annual dues and has no outstanding arrearages or has paid the lifetime membership fee. An active member is a member who participates in at least one event of the Chapter and attends the Chapter’s General Assembly.
Section 6. Lifetime Member. A lifetime member is a regular member who pays the lifetime fee of $200.00, or as resolved by the MSUAA-NA Board of Directors, a portion of which will be remitted to the national office as part of the Chapter’s membership dues.
Section 7. Rights and Privileges. (a) A regular member in good standing shall have the right to attend any regular or special meetings of the Chapter, to participate in its deliberations and shall be entitled to vote and to be voted upon.
(b) Associate, Adopted, and Honorary members shall enjoy the rights and privileges of regular members in good standing, except the right to vote and to be voted upon.
Section 8. Suspension of Membership. Any member of the Chapter may be suspended due to non-payment of annual membership dues or has committed actions detrimental to the Chapter.
