Canadian Agriculture Literacy Month (CALM) is a national celebration held every March that brings together organizations, communities, schools, and sectors who share a commitment to helping Canadians better understand the people and processes behind our food system. Led by Agriculture in the Classroom Canada and 10 regional members, CALM reaches over 150,000 student experiences each year, creating a powerful, coast‑to‑coast‑to‑coast moment of connection and curiosity. We welcome partners who want to join this movement by contributing their own stories and voices to elevate agriculture and food literacy in meaningful, authentic ways.
External partners play an important role in expanding the reach and visibility of CALM. Whether through storytelling, digital campaigns, or other awareness‑building activities, partners help Canadians see the many ways agriculture and food touches their daily lives. Every contribution adds to a shared national moment that highlights the diversity, innovation, and dedication within Canada’s food system. One of CALM’s signature initiatives includes lighting landmarks across Canada in unified colours — a powerful visual symbol of national appreciation for the people who grow, produce, and support our food system.
By participating in CALM, partners become part of a collaborative network working together to spark curiosity, celebrate the people behind our food, and inspire a deeper connection to agriculture across the country.
Partnership Proposal
As part of this shared national celebration, we invite external partners to share an overview of the activities or storytelling they would like to contribute during Canadian Agriculture Literacy Month. This helps us understand how your ideas connect with the spirit of CALM and ensures we can support you with the right tools, visibility, and alignment across the national movement.
We welcome proposals of all sizes — from simple social posts, digital campaigns, or sector‑specific storytelling. Every contribution adds to the collective impact of CALM and helps Canadians see the many ways agriculture and food touches their daily lives.

How Partnership Proposals Will Be Reviewed

- Alignment with AITC Canada’s standards for providing accurate, balanced, and current agriculture and food information.
- Complementarity with existing CALM activities, ensuring proposed initiatives add value to the national movement without duplicating programming already delivered by Agriculture in the Classroom Canada or its 10 regional members.
- Support for agriculture and food literacy awareness, including storytelling, visibility, and public engagement that help Canadians better understand the people and processes behind our food system.
- Consistency with CALM’s key messages and national campaign direction, helping create a unified, coast‑to‑coast‑to‑coast celebration.
