A structured, interactive session where a group of youth, adults, or volunteers (typically 0–35 participants) engage in focused discussion or hands‑on activities on a specific topic. Workshops may be delivered virtually or in person. Example: A soil workshop where students learn how soil health supports crop and plant production. Each workshop delivered counts as one workshop.

    Event
A planned public or private gathering organized for a specific purpose—such as careers, food, or agriculture learning. Events may be short or long in duration and typically reach larger audiences (e.g., 50+ participants). Events may be virtual or in person and are organized by members. Example: A thinkAG career expo, farm tour, reading challenge, art show, or teacher conference.

Not included: Swag items (e.g., gum, pens, pencils) or postcards/marketing materials.

  • Available Project Streams

  • There is a maximum amount available for each project at this time. Final funding allocations will be determined based on the total number of proposals submitted and the details provided in each project application.

Below is the current list of available funding streams. This list will be updated as additional funds become available throughout the year.

    Available Funding Streams :

Canadian Agriculture Literacy Month (CALM) (NOT OPEN YET)

Description: This funding supports activities and resources designed to celebrate CALM every March. Members can apply for support to host presentations, events, or provide materials that connect students with the agricultural world in engaging and meaningful ways or provide professional development to youth influencers (e.g. volunteers, educator leaders) under the Canadian Agriculture Literacy Month brand.

    thinkAG (NOT OPEN YET)

Description: The thinkAG funding stream helps deliver career-focused agri-food education to students across Canada. Funding is available to support in-classroom presentations/workshops, virtual sessions, educational events and career booths at external events (e.g. expos, GenAG, or career booths at external events) that promote awareness of diverse career opportunities within the agriculture and agri-food sector under the thinkAG brand.

    Great Canadian Farm Tour

Desription : This funding supports member‑led outreach activities associated with the Great Canadian Farm Tour, a national English and French program delivered from October to December. Funds may be used for:

Outreach, coordination, and relationship‑building with potential host farmers
Eligible event‑related costs, including filming or content capture
Engagement activities required to confirm hosts
Funding is limited and available for up to six (6) members, depending on submitted budgets.

Important: When completing your application, please select Event (Virtual) when confirming the services you are offering for this project stream. When completing your budget, you will submit budget information in the Event (Virtual) worksheet. No impacts are final reports are required for this project stream.

In the Key Considerations section of your application, include any major challenges or concerns that help explain why your region should be considered for funding in this cycle.

    Partnership Pathways
Below are the partnership pathways available for selection within the GCFT project stream.

A — Host Engagement and Recruitement

Members identify and connect with host farms/food businesses. This preserves regional leadership in selecting authentic, locally relevant hosts.

    B — Regional Promotion (Stand‑Alone or Add‑On)

Members promote GCFT within their region. A great option for partners who want to contribute without host‑related responsibilities.

    C — Content Collaboration (Add‑On)

Members support filming or on‑site content capture. This role is not a requirement as AITC Canada can coordinate with host to take video clips.

D — Regional Member Unable to Support (Guaranteed Representation)

When capacity is limited, AITC Canada engages an external partner to deliver the event. AITC Canada will ensure your region is still represented. We welcome any suggestions for potential hosts - a space will be available later in the form.
