  • On October 7, 1963, known as “Freedom Day,” more than 350 Black residents of Selma courageously lined up to register to vote, facing intimidation and violence in their fight for civil rights. In honor of this pivotal moment in history, NAAM is offering complimentary guided tours of the museum on Sunday, October 5, including the Selma Is Now exhibition.

Selma Is Now explores the legacy of the Selma to Montgomery Marches which ultimately were the lynchpin to move forward the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
