  • Resilience Hubs Mini-Grants Application Form

    A collaboration with the Oakland Parks & Recreation Foundation, City of Oakland and NorCal Resilience Network

    Thank you for your application! Please review the following guidelines and information before applying:

    • Groups may request between $1,000-$5,000. Please note that you will receive the requested funds up front.
    • The project must be located within the City of Oakland limits
    • Your project should be affiliated/have a connection with a city facility, such as a park, library, community garden or recreation center.
    • The proposal must be located at a site that has a safe, reliable electricity source, or will provide access to safe, reliable electricity source at a given location.
    • Your project must include a timeline for the project to be completed by December 1, 2022. 
    • Applicants will be offered one training session about this funding opportunity, which will include suggestions for potential partnerships with city facilities and support for how sites/individuals can collaborate with each other (especially those who do not initially qualify for the above-mentioned criteria). 
    • This application is not meant to onerous and shouldn't take longer than one hour to complete. The word limits are suggested but not strict.

    Word Limit: Please limit your project description to under 400 words for each section.

  • Please describe your project, including the goals and objectives. How will this project contribute to your site’s development as a resilience hub, space or block? 

  • Please provide an estimated timeline of the project's activities.  

  • Please name/describe the city facility (eg, park, community garden or recreation center) affiliated with or connected to this project, and describe how that facility will be integrated in the project.

  • Please describe the neighborhood(s) you are working in & the population your project will serve. How will this project center the needs of frontline communities & other high-risk groups?

  • Please share a detailed budget for your project.  The budget may include materials related to your resilience-building project, stipends for organizers and planning/training costs. Please note that administrative costs and stipends may not add up to more than 25% of the budget (excluding planning/training costs).

  • Please describe any methods you have used to assess the needs of community members about this project, including site assessments, neighborhood mapping or surveys. Please note that funds may be used to assess your community.
