will be holding a Sports Shear focused training session
on Friday, 18th July between 2:00 - 5:00 pm in the Shearing Pavilion
at the Australian Sheep & Wool Show

There will be two qualified shearers who have competed on the national and international circuit shearing while a qualifed shearer/judge takes the group through the areas of where points are lost and gained and an explanation as to why the points were given.

Shearing competitors will then have the opportunity to shear a couple of sheep each with coaching on individual stands and then shown out the back where they have lost points and areas for improvement.

A Wool Handling Sports Shear workshop will also run at the same time with a qualified trainer/judge who will take the group through and explain to the competitors of where points are lost and gained.

The training session will include clarification on coaching from the pens, holding sheep in the pens and the rules when there is a wool handling competition running in conjunction with shearing competition.

If you don't know or understand the rules or would like a refesher on what the rules are, the NCVSSA Committee recommend you attend this training sesson especially if you are a competitor or would like to learn more about the judging side of the competition.
