If this form is being submitted for a Youth Tour delegate, it must be completed and signed by a parent or legal guardian, regardless of age. The form requires the signature and attention of both the participant and the parent or guardian. We recommend completing the form together.
Privacy Notice: Your privacy is important to us. NRECA will only collect, use, distribute, or share the information collected in this 2026 Electric Cooperative Youth Tour Registration Form (the Form) to plan and implement health protocols and, if needed, provide appropriate medical care for your health and safety as a Youth Tour participant. NRECA will not, and will not authorize any third party to, sell, lease, license, distribute, share, or otherwise use the health information collected in the Form for any other purpose. NRECA, and its affiliated co-ops and statewide associations, may use the contact information collected during your Youth Tour participation to inform you about future opportunities they sponsor. NRECA will not sell, distribute, share, or otherwise provide your information to any third party. To update or delete your information after the event, please email YouthPrograms@NRECA.coop. Please be as honest and thorough as possible.
Your safety is our top priority during Youth Tour. The information you share helps our on-site nurses and NRECA staff provide the best possible care in the unlikely event of an emergency. Please complete this form carefully and accurate, details like allergies, medications, and medical history ensure that, if you ever need medical attention, our team can respond quickly and appropriately. All information will be kept confidential and only used to support your health and safety during the program.
In exchange for the intangible value gained by participating in programs of the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (“NRECA”) and for other good and valuable consideration, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, I hereby grant all rights and permission to the NRECA and its respective representatives, subsidiaries, affiliates, successors, employees, assigns, consultants, members, and contractors (“Company”) to photograph, videotape, or otherwise record me or my child (or other individual under the age of 18 for whom I am legal guardian) in connection with NRECA’s youth programs, including, but not limited to, Youth Tour and the Youth Leadership Council.
I also grant to Company the irrevocable and unrestricted right to use my or my child’s (or other individual under the age of 18 for whom I am legal guardian) name, likeness, professional or biographical information, image, voice, or video recordings (hereinafter “Recordings”), and all materials created by or on behalf of the Company that incorporate any of the foregoing (“Materials”) in perpetuity throughout the world in any medium or format whatsoever now existing or hereafter created and for any purpose without further consent from or royalty, payment or compensation to me or my child (or other individual under the age of 18 for whom I am legal guardian).
Company shall be the exclusive owner of all rights, including copyright, in the Materials. I acknowledge and agree that I have no right to review or approve Materials before they are used by Company, and that Company has no liability to me or my child (or other individual under the age of 18 for whom I am legal guardian) for any editing or alteration of the Materials or for any distortion or other effects to any Recording resulting from Company’s use of the Materials, or Company’s presentation of me or my child (or other individual under the age of 18 for whom I am legal guardian). Any credit or other acknowledgement of me or my child (or other individual under the age of 18 for whom I am legal guardian), if any, shall be determined by Company in Company’s sole discretion. Company has no obligation to create or use the Materials or to exercise any rights given by this consent and release.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, on behalf of myself and my child (or other individual under the age of 18 for whom I am legal guardian), I hereby waive all legal and equitable rights relating to all liabilities, claims, or demands, including but not limited to claims for copyright or trademark infringement, infringement of moral rights, libel, defamation, invasion of any rights of privacy, violation of rights of publicity, or any similar claim or cause of action in tort, contract or any other legal theory, now or hereafter known in any jurisdiction throughout the world arising directly or indirectly from Company’s use of the Materials, and forever release and discharge the Company from liability under such claims.
I represent that I am at least 18 years old and have the right to agree to the terms of this agreement. This agreement shall be binding upon me, my child (or other individual’ under the age of 18 for whom I am legal guardian), and our heirs, legal representatives and assigns, and shall be governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia. This agreement constitutes the sole and entire agreement with respect to the subject matter discussed and supersedes all prior agreements, both oral and written, of Company, with respect to such subject matter.
Participation in the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association’s (“NRECA”) Electric Cooperative Youth Tour program or Youth Leadership Council program (each a “Youth Program” and collectively the “Youth Programs”) is a privilege, and one which requires strict adherence to this NRECA Youth Programs Code Of Conduct (the “Code of Conduct”). By accepting this opportunity, each Youth Program participant (each a “Participant” and collectively the “Participants”) agree to conduct their self in a manner that reflects positively on the delegate, their sponsoring cooperative, their statewide association and NRECA.
Each Participant is a representative of their sponsoring cooperative, statewide association and NRECA. This Code of Conduct establishes minimum standards that apply to all Participants of NRECA’s Youth Programs. Statewide associations and sponsoring cooperatives may impose additional rules; however, no provision in this document may be waived or disregarded.
NRECA and its designated representatives reserve the authority to enforce this Code of Conduct, which may lead to consequences for violations up to and including the dismissal of any Participant from the program(s). Any costs related to the dismissal of a Participant, including, but not limited to, transportation costs, shall be borne exclusively by the dismissed Participant’s parents/legal guardians and/or sponsoring cooperative.
The National Youth Tour Director and NRECA, in coordination with state staff, shall have sole discretion to determine the severity of an infraction and the appropriate consequence, including dismissal without prior warnings.
I have read and understand this Assumption of Risk, Release, and Waiver Agreement (the “Agreement”) in its entirety. I understand that participation in Youth Tour activities is entirely voluntary and requires participants to follow all instructions and abide by all applicable rules and standards of conduct. I understand that participation in Youth Tour involves risk of personal injury due to the physical, mental, and emotional challenges related to the activities involved. I represent that my child has no known mental or physical conditions that would impair my child’s abilities to participate in Youth Tour.
I assume all risks, known and unknown, foreseeable and unforeseeable, in any way connected with my child’s participation in Youth Tour. I accept personal responsibility for any liability, injury, loss, or damage in any way connected with my child’s participation in Youth Tour. I understand that by participating in Youth Tour, my child may be exposed to injury, the injury of others, or injury to property due to my child’s activities, the activity of others, including, but not limited to the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (“NRECA”), or conditions related to Youth Tour activities. I have carefully considered the risks associated with Youth Tour and hereby give my informed consent for my child to participate in all Youth Tour activities.
IN CONSIDERATION OF THE OPPORTUNITY AFFORDED TO MY CHILD THROUGH PARTICIPATION IN YOUTH TOUR, AND WITH APPRECIATION OF THE RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH YOUTH TOUR ACTIVITIES, ON MY OWN BEHALF AND ON BEHALF OF MY CHILD, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW I HEREBY FULLY AND COMPLETELY RELEASE NRECA, AND ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AGENTS, VOLUNTEERS, SUCCESSORS, AND ASSIGNS FROM ANY AND ALL LIABILITY FOR AND WAIVE ANY AND ALL CLAIMS FOR ALL LIABILITY, CLAIMS, CAUSES OF ACTION, DEMANDS, COSTS, OR EXPENSES OF ANY KIND OR NATURE, WHETHER BASED IN CONTRACT, TORT, STATUTE, OR OTHER LEGAL OR EQUITABLE THEORY OF RECOVERY, IN ANY WAY CONNECTED WITH MY CHILD’S PARTICIPATION IN YOUTH TOUR, WHETHER OR NOT CAUSED IN WHOLE OR IN PART BY THE NEGLIGENCE OR OTHER MISCONDUCT OF NRECA, OR ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AGENTS, VOLUNTEERS, SUCCESSORS, AND ASSIGNS.
I understand and agree that the above release and waiver is material consideration for my child’s participation in Youth Tour. I further understand and agree that by signing this Agreement I am giving up substantial legal rights. I understand and agree that this Agreement shall be legally binding upon me, my relatives, personal representatives, heirs, beneficiaries, next of kin, or assigns and shall inure to the benefit of NRECA and its successors and assigns.
