Principles and Practices
This statement is established in accordance with the objectives of the Northwest Arkansas Kennel Club. Adherence to these Principles and Practices is expected of all members. Habitual disregard for these stated Principles and Practices shall be grounds for expulsion from the club after due consideration by the Board of Directors.
- I will observe the highest standards of good sportsmanship and goodwill at shows, obedience and agility trials, on social media, and at any other events involving dogs, always behaving in a fair and courteous manner and following the AKC Code of Sportsmanship and Civility.
- I will assist all newcomers to the sport of purebred dogs so that they may be guided in the ways that can best serve and promote the dog fancy.
- I will at all times comport myself as a responsible dog owner, not allowing my dog/dogs to run at will or behave in a nuisance like manner and always picking up after them when off my own property. I will respect other people’s property, such as motel/hotel rooms and grounds, match sites, etc.
- I will maintain the highest possible standard of health, cleanliness and care of all my dogs.
- I will not donate animals for research, unless it is to the study of a specific breed defect by a veterinarian. I will not sell a dog to a pet shop, animal broker, or commercial kennel. I will not sell or donate an animal as a prize for any purpose.
I hereby acknowledge I have read and understand the above statements. I agree to comply with these Principles and Practices and with the Northwest Arkansas Kennel Club’s Code of Conduct for Interactions with Juniors.
