    There are two required sections of this application which address education history. 

    (1) Academic History: A complete educational history is required. which must include information about each and every college or university ever attended, regardless of whether the institution is in the U.S. or elsewhere, whether a degree was earned, how long ago the enrollment was, or how many credits were earned. 

    (2) Eligibility and Records Required: Eligibility and Records information is required to help determine eligibility for law school admission in accordance with California Law and the Rules of the State Bar of California. This information will also help determine which transcripts, evaluations of foreign degrees or credits, or other records must be submitted.

    While we cannot guarantee the accuracy of the following instructions, since the State Bar has control of their website and its contents, the following steps should direct you to the list of evaluation companies approved by the State Bar of California:

    1. Go to the State Bar of California webpage: (www.calbar.ca.gov) and select "Admissions" from the blue menu on the right of the page.

    2. When the admissions page opens, select "Requirements" from the blue menu bar.

    3. When the requirements page opens, select "Education" from the dark grey menu at the left side of the screen.

    4. When the education page opens, scroll down the page to the section titled "Foreign Education." Click on the link in that section that says "requirements for foreign applicants." This will open another new page that says "Foreign Education."

    5. On the foreign education page, scroll all the way to the bottom of the page, and just above the dark blue box that has the addresses, you will find several links. The one you need is titled "List of Credential Evaluation Services Approved by the Committee of Bar Examiners."

  • Unfortunately, because you do not meet the statutory requirements for entry to law school in the state of California, we cannot accept you into our law study program. Therefore, you need not continue nor submit your application. However, if in the future you meet one of the educational eligibility requirements, we look forward to receiving an application from you then.

  • Previous Law School Experience 

  • Please answer the following questions about your prior law school experience. 

  • *Students must have completed at least one full year of prior law studies to qualify for transfer credit. Students who previously attended an unaccredited law school in California must have passed the FYLSX in order to qualify for transfer credit. Transfer credits are determined on a case-by-case basis after review of all law school transcripts.

  • Prior Law School Transcript Requirement

     

    All students who have attended law school prior to enrollment at Northwestern California University School of Law must arrange to have an official* transcript from each law school previously attended sent to us.

    Please note that a transcript is still required even if a student was enrolled for only a short time, and did not receive grades, or is not seeking transfer credit.

    Annual Lexis-Nexis subscription $75

    One-time materials fee* $595

    Administrative fee, if using payment plan $100

    * Covers access to our online eJuris® program, and all online materials, including recordings of legal terms

    Payment Plan: NWCU does not offer a scholarship program, but does provide an affordable payment plan. Students on it pay an initial sum upon enrollment of $1,600.00, which includes $830.00 toward the total tuition due; a LexisNexis subscription, one-time materials fee, and administrative fee. Students also agree to 10 regularly scheduled monthly charges by the school, each in the amount of $415.00, to a credit card/debit card for tuition.

    Additional Costs: Students must purchase required texts and materials as shown on the required book list that is provided upon acceptance. Students must pay proctoring fees for final exams. Upon graduation, students may order a J.D. degree certificate that is suitable for framing. The current cost of it is $100.

    State Bar of California fees: Students must pay fees to the State Bar of California such as for registration as a law student, bar exam fees, applications for attorney licensing, etc. Please check the State Bar website for information about fees and becoming a licensed attorney in California.

    The method of instruction at this law school for the Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree program is principally by technological means including interactive classes.

  • NWCU Policy

    I understand that there are no residency requirements for the law study program and that, upon  successful completion of all non-residence study requirements and payment in full of all monies owed, students are awarded a degree.

     

    I also understand that the California Education Code prohibits the transmission of information contained in my application (and documents submitted to supplement the application) to others without my consent. I hereby specifically agree that Northwestern California University School of Law may submit such information to the schools or agencies of its choice for verification.
