Join the Academy of Home Inspection for continuing education focused on Kentucky Law & Report Writing. This course is designed for Kentucky licensed home inspectors seeking continuing education credit and to strengthen their understanding of state regulations while improving the clarity, accuracy, and professionalism of their inspection reports.
Topics will include current Kentucky inspection laws, reporting requirements, and best practices to help inspectors stay compliant, reduce liability, and deliver high-quality reports.
The Kentucky Law portion of this course will review and discuss the statutory and regulatory framework governing home inspection in Kentucky under KRS 198B.700 – 198B.738 and related administrative regulations (such as 831 KAR 2:040). Topics include licensure requirements, standards of practice, contractual issues, report obligations, ethics, and business-compliance obligations for home inspectors.
The report writing portion of the course strengthens the skills of licensed Kentucky home inspectors in producing professional, clear, and compliant home inspection reports. Participants will learn how to structure reports effectively, use accurate and defensible language, communicate findings clearly to clients, and avoid common liability pitfalls. The portion uses lecture, real-world examples, and interactive report critique.
