Thank you for your interest in joining Ohel Mo’ed!
We are a peer-led halachic egalitarian community, affiliated with the Masorti movement. We create a space for joyful and intentional prayer in a non-judgemental and inclusive atmosphere. We strive to create an empowered community that’s passionate about contributing to the running of our services and community life. We are a close-knit and open community where all are encouraged to bring their full selves.
In line with Ohel Moed’s core values, our membership system strives to be a fair and inclusive one. We always encourage members to participate in and contribute to communal life in the ways that align with their particular skills, means, and interests - through tefillah leadership, hosting, volunteering, and more. So too with our membership system, we ask our members to consider their capacity, so that those who are able to contribute a higher amount do so, and those with more limited resources can pay less without question or hesitation.

What does it cost to run Ohel Moed?
Right now, it costs Ohel Moed about £500 a month to provide our general calendar of events - that includes services for Shabbat and Yom Tov, as well as dinners, kiddushes, administrative costs, or investments in our future, such as acquiring equipment and ritual items that can allow us to grow. That does not include High Holy Days and non-service events, such as social and educational programming. These costs reflect our current frequency of events (e.g. one Shabbat day service per month), and we expect them to increase as we grow.
What does membership include?
