In order for your son or daughter to become or continue to remain a member of the Federation of North American Explorers he or she will need to understand and abide by a basic Code of Conduct. This expectation is further reinforced through the youth program level Promise and Law. The Code will center on the following set of requirements:
- Youth members will to the best of their ability help to look after the other members of the unit and group
- Youth members will show respect for self and others. Negative physical or verbal altercations will not be acceptable or tolerated
- Youth members will be expected to perform one good deed (to help someone else without being asked or rewarded) each day
- Youth members will wear their full and complete uniform neatly for all group and unit activities unless advised otherwise by the leadership team
- Youth members will respond to group or unit commands and hand signals quickly and quietly
- Youth members will participate fully in the program. If absent, he or she will notify his or her youth leader in a timely manner to report his or her absence and why
It should be noted that no youth member would be allowed to unduly disrupt or negatively impact the group program experience for its members. This Code of Conduct will ensure that your son or daughter and the other youth members in the unit or group receive the best possible program experience.
