Tutoring policies
All private tutoring services will be at One 2 One Tutoring Service LLC in Burlington, NC.
Scheduling Sessions
Steady scheduling is a vital component of a successful tutoring experience. Appointments are made on a reoccurring basis. If you cancel 3 or more sessions in a row, we will remove your child from tutoring because we can not guarantee your child's progression in our program.
To prevent missed tutoring sessions, you should consider the: holidays, vacations, extracurricular activities, and other appointments that may conflict with {studentsName}'s schedule.
I, {parentguardianName}, will make, cancel, or reschedule appointments by calling or emailing the office.
While every effort is made to place a student with their requested tutor, they may not be available at that time in the event of illness or unforeseen scheduling conflict. {parentguardianName} will be notified of this change in advance, and you will not be charged.
All services are rendered and billed weekly or bi-weekly with a minimum of 1 hour - 1 1/2 hours of service per session. Our policy is not to end tutoring sessions early, so please schedule your child's appointments accordingly. Students should come prepared with enough material to take up the entire session. If {parentguardianName} chooses to pick up {studentsName} before the end of their session, you will still be billed the same amount.
Most schools have specific calendars with varying early release/late start days. Therefore, it is always {parentguardianName}'s responsibility to cancel in advance due to any school schedule changes that would affect {studentsName}'s tutoring, etc. Otherwise, One 2 One Tutoring Svc will expect {studentsName} as scheduled for their session.
Working days
School tutoring sessions occur from September (after Labor Day) to May or June, depending on EOG (End of Grade test).
When signing up, you MUST commit to a 3-month contract. That means you can not stop tutoring within this contract, but we will bill you until your 3 months contract is over if you choose to do so.
All appointments are private, one-on-one tutorial sessions.
One 2 One Tutoring Svc is open during business hours 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm. We can adjust your time if need be when school is closed. We are closed during major holidays. Look on the website or Facebook for closures. We will update as needed. We do not follow any guidelines for the school district; please call the office for more information.
One 2 One Tutoring Svc does offer online tutoring sessions for specific circumstances. All online tutoring sessions are accessible via Zoom or Google Meet. {studentsName}'s responsibility is to download, install, and configure video conferencing software before the tutoring session begins. We will wait 10 minutes and then log off and contact the parent.
"No Call No Show" fee is $55.00 plus the session {studentsName} missed. These fees must be paid before {studentsName} can return to tutoring. One 2 One Tutoring Svc reserves the right to cancel recurring appointments.
{parentguardianName}, you will receive an email, text the day before your child's session, and the day of, Brenda Foster will call to remind you of {studentsName}'s scheduled session.
To ensure that {studentsName}'s time is respected and the time of the tutor's other students, tutoring sessions will begin promptly at their scheduled time regardless of the time of {studentsName}'s arrival.
No fee adjustment shall be made for time lost because of the late arrival by {parentguardianName}. (Ex: If {studentsName} is 15 minutes late, One 2 One Tutoring Svc will be unable to extend {studentsName}'s tutoring session because there might be another student scheduled)
It is not required, but ideally, that {parentguardianName} be present at all or most of the tutoring sessions to get follow-up information from the tutor.
Summer sessions
We will start the 2nd week of June and end the 2nd week of August. Call for more information. Look at the website or Facebook for more details.
The obligation of the tutor & {studentsName}
One 2 One Tutoring Svc structure sessions to optimize time to benefit {studentsName}. One 2 One Tutoring Svc shall keep {studentsName}'s information confidential. We have a separate consent form for you to fill out, and we will send it to {studentsName}'s teachers. {studentsName} shall assist One 2 One Tutoring Staff members in identifying problem areas in which they need specific tutoring.
{studentsName} agrees to be prepared for each session, for example, tutoring folders, pencils, books, calculators, other relevant study material, etc.
One 2 One Tutoring Svc staff members are confident in their skills and teaching ability. However, we make no promises or guarantees about {studentsName}'s performance or grades due to any tutoring provided.
Payments
Our payment policy is convenient and hassle-free for the parents.
We will have {parentguardianName} must sign up for reoccurring payments; the form is in the office for you to sign on the day you sign up {studentsName}.
{parentguardianName} must pay a week in advance to hold {studentsName}'s spot.
Payments will be due in FULL every Friday or bi-weekly on Friday. Invoices are sent out in an email or text every Friday; please check your spam if it is not in your inbox. There is a three-day grace period; a late fee of $40.00 will occur on that following Tuesday. Additional late fees of 8% will be applied every Friday until paid in full.
Forms of payment: Cash, Money order, Zelle (One2onetutoringsvc@gmail.com) - cash price
Credit/Debit card; a 9.7% processing fee will be added to the subtotal.
ABSOLUTELY NO CHECKS
If {studentsName}'s session is not paid in full by the following week, {studentsName} can not return to tutoring until the debt is paid in full. {studentsName} might lose their spot.
Suppose the account goes 30 days past due. In this case, One 2 One Tutoring will turn you over to the Small Claims Court of Graham, NC, and {parentguardianName} & {studentsName} will not be able to re-enroll back into the tutoring program.
We ask the parents to review their invoice(s) during the period after receiving the invoice and before the credit card is charged. While invoices are not delineated by service date, we can provide an appointment report for a given period by request. Information about attended sessions is also available by viewing session summary forms. Contact our office with any questions about billing.
Past Dues: We reserve the right to take legal action if your account is not paid within 30 days. The past due, current invoice, and next week's invoice must be paid in full of restarting tutoring. No tutoring sessions may occur when an account is over 30 days past due.
The tutor should not receive payments from any parents or discussions about your account. If you have any questions regarding payments, student sessions, etc., the tutors will refer you to the office manager, Brenda Foster.
Cancellations
Any tutoring sessions canceled 12 hours in advance can be rescheduled if the parent chooses to, except for emergencies. For tutoring sessions canceled less than 12 hours, the parent will be charged the standard rate fee. Don't hesitate to contact Brenda Foster at one2onetutoringsvc@gmail.com or (336) 223-5813 to cancel {studentsName}'s tutoring session.
All cancellations of tutoring must be made by phone call or text to (336) 223-5813 or via email to one2onetutoringsvc@gmail.com. One 2 One Tutoring Svc will acknowledge the cancellation when the text or email is received.
Our office will notify students & parents in advance of closings due to holidays or other circumstances. Please call 336-223-5813 for recorded information regarding closings due to inclement weather or other natural disasters. One 2 One Tutoring Svc will waive the cancellation fee if a client feels unsafe to travel to their session due to such circumstances.
If a tutor cancels due to an emergency or other reason, the parent will be notified as soon as possible. That session will be rescheduled with the same tutor or another tutor as quickly as possible.
Emergencies and illnesses happen, and dealing with this pandemic. We ask if you or your household is sick; please let us know immediately to contact the tutor.
One 2 One Tutoring Svc, LLC may terminate {studentsName}'s tutoring session.
If {parentguardianName} terminates {studentsName}'s tutoring early, please give One 2 One Tutoring Svc a week's notice and pay any outstanding debt.
COVID Protocol & Temperature:
Suppose {parentguardianName} or {studentsName} or another member of your family has come in contact with someone with COVID. Please call us immediately and stay home and quarantine for the following 10 days until you get a negative test.
The staff will be taking the temperature of all students that comes through the door and asking the parents COVID questions. If {studentsName} has taken the vaccine or not, we are still asking if {studentsName} will still wear a mask while being tutored.
All payments received are non-refundable for any reason!
Acknowledgment of Responsibility
I, {parentguardianName}, as the parent or legal guardian of {studentsName}, acknowledge and accept full responsibility for the payment of {studentsName}'s tutoring services rendered to {studentsName}. I, {parentguardianName}, understand and agree that I will pay for these services in full at the time of the invoice.
I understand and agree that if I do not make the payment on the scheduled due date, a late fee of $40.00 plus any additional fees will be applied to the invoice.
I further understand that I have 12 hours to cancel {studentsName}'s tutoring session before being charged the complete service.
If you have read and agree to the rules and obligations set before you, we will have a copy for you to sign at the scheduled consultation. If you need to reflect on the office policies, you can look at the website.
