ABOUT THE SYNCHRO CAMP (SUMMARY):
Group options are below:
1) Regular Full-Day Camp *20 spots left* (Saturday & Sunday, ~8 hours per day); Skating Level: Must have passed STAR 4 in at least 2 areas (free skate, skills, dance) (Canada) or pre-juvenile skating skills (USA). Recommended Age: 8+. Younger skaters are welcome, at their guardians' discretion. This camp is suitable for skaters up to the Novice, Intermediate, Open and Collegiate team/skill levels (and developing Junior/Senior skaters). Approximately 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM daily, including ~8 hours of total ice time. Skaters will be grouped by skill level, age, and experience; Skaters with no synchro experience but equivalent skill level are invited to register.
2) Development Half-Day Camp *only 4 spots left* (Saturday & Sunday afternoons, 4-5 hours per day); Skating Level: Must have passed all STAR 2 tests (skills, dance, and freeskate), up to STAR 4 tests (Canada), or be skating at the Aspire 3-4 or preliminary team-level (USA). Age: 6+. Details are still to be confirmed, but this half-day camp will likely run from 12pm-4:30pm daily, with ~2 hours of ice time per day.
3) Development Mini Camp - Previously "Star Seminar" (Saturday Morning, ~3 hours). Skating Level: STAR 1 tests (minimum) to STAR 3 tests (Canada) or be skating at the Aspire 1-2 level (USA). Age: 5+. Enjoy a short synchro seminar with a world-class synchro coach and skate with National Team skaters. Approximately 1 hour on-ice and additional off-ice.
4) Adult Camp *only 10 spots left* (~3-4 hours Sunday AM); enjoy 45 minutes of off-ice (TBC: body movements for no hold elements), 1.5 hours on-ice (TBC; pair elements, difficult turns in series, twizzle tips, pivot block prep with 1-foot entry), and 45 minutes off-ice with a National-Level Judge ("What judges want to see from Adult skaters"). Adult skaters should be comfortable performing the following skills, with confidence and relative ease: perimeter stroking forward and backward, 3-turns and c-steps in all directions with speed.
4) Coaches Spectator Camp; Coaches of all levels and disciplines are invited to attend the camp as on-ice and off-ice spectators. Attend for free if 6 or more skaters from the same team and level sign up by Apr 24, 2024. Email camps@oneteammvmt.org by April 24 to take advantage of this offer before registering; offer not valid retroactively.
FAQ:
- I have my STAR 4 skills and dance. What should I sign up for?
There are two experiences you can choose from; Select the Full-Day Camp if you want a more intensive experience (8 hours per day, 4 hours on ice daily), or the half-day camp (4 hours per day, 2 hours on ice) if you want a lighter experience.
- I have my STAR 2 to 4 tests. What should I sign up for?
There are two experiences you can choose from; Select the Half-Day Camp if you want a more intensive experience (4-5 hours per day, 2 hours on ice daily), or the Mini Camp if you want a "taste" of camp, with 1 on-ice session plus off-ice, on one day
- Is this an overnight camp?
No, this is not an overnight camp. Camp participants are to be signed in and out by their parent/guardian each day. For out-of-town guests, we typically secure a discounted group rate at a nearby hotel (in 2023 we stayed at the Best Western for a reduced rate of $129/night + tax). If there is sufficient interest, we may book a shuttle bus to bring skaters from the hotel to the arena and back, each day.

***Our camps count toward Coaches' PDC points from Skate Canada. This camp provides an opportunity for you to meet other coaches, attend and watch sessions, and learn from the head coaches and ask questions off the ice. While skaters have a specific schedule, coaches have the flexibility to float between sessions, attending the ones they are most interested in. If a significant number of coaches sign up and request a session on a specific topic, the coaches' schedule may be adjusted accordingly.
