    There are many areas at Christ Church where you can develop friendship, engage in community and discover purpose. Whether you are new to our parish or a lifelong member, we invite you to fill out this form and we will help you find your place.

    Please allow up to two weeks for a ministry leader to contact you after submitting this form. Let us know if you do not hear back in that time frame.

  • WORSHIP VOLUNTEERS

    Lay Eucharistic Ministers assist the priest in the service by reading the prayers of the people and administering the Holy Eucharist. Training is provided by the clergy

    Lectors read the lessons appointed for the day

    Ushers and Greeters play a key role in making individual worship services run smoothly and providing directions to newcomers; they are some of the first faces folks see when coming to worship

    Altar Guild is comprised of five teams serving on a rotation schedule throughout the year; Members spend time each week polishing silver and brass, washing and ironing altar linens, and preparing the altar and serve as the priests' partners in making the worship life of the parish run smoothly

    Acolytes and Acolyte Leaders assist by leading processions, carrying torches, lighting candles and serving at the altar; Ages 8 and older are invited to serve and training is provided prior to serving as a torch bearer or crucifer

  • GUILDS AND SERVICE GROUPS

    Flower Guild crafts beautiful flower arrangements for Sunday services, special events and receptions

    Bettie Anne Cleino Flower Ministry prepares and delivers flowers to those on the prayer list each week

    ECW (Episcopal Church Women) brings together all the women in our church, actively contributing to outreach through events like Jazz Brunch, Fall Bazaar and Spring Fling

    Stough Guild, Murphy Guild, Pradat Guild and Penick Guild are women's groups that have unique focuses—from community projects to supporting children’s ministries

    Daughters of the King (DOK) commit themselves to prayer, service and evangelism

    Holy Chow Cooks fellowship while preparing breakfast each Sunday

    Special Events Committee offers assistance with setup and planning for events throughout the year, such as The Holy Boocharist and unique Eucharist services

    Reception Desk Volunteers assist with answering phones and other office-related tasks at the direction of church staff

  • SMALL GROUPS

    Out of the Nest is a fellowship especially for parents of college-age children that generally meets on a weekday evening

    Working Moms Lunch meets for a meal and conversation at the home of Pam Parker 

    In the Kitchen welcomes those who enjoy cooking and baking to prepare food and sweets that can be used to stock the Outreach freezer or help other ministry areas

    Hunters Guild is for men who enjoy the outdoors and gathering for potluck meals

    First Thursday Club is a monthly gathering for women to enjoy conversation and appetizers

    Quarterly Book Club is a group for those who love to read and share a meal together during the discussion

    New Moms meet to share the joys and challenges of early parenthood

    Men's Short Stories + Poetry meets monthly at the Alcove to discuss a variety of pieces of literature

    Christ Church Men meet on occasion for conversation and social activities

  • MUSIC MINISTRY

    Adult Choir leads worship for the 11 AM Sunday service and also for Evensong, Lessons & Carols, Christmas, Holy Week, Easter, weddings, funerals and other special services and is open to singers of later high school age and older who can read music

    Casual Service Musicians provide camp and contemporary style music for our 5 PM Sunday services

    Open Talent is your chance to share a musical gift that may bless our community for special events or other services—let us know if you sing or play an instrument

     

  • OUTREACH OPPORTUNITIES

    Collectibles Committee manages the Christ Church Collectibles store and Instagram page to raise funds for outreach organizations and worthy causes 

    Community Soup Bowl provides a warm inviting atmosphere seven days a week to welcome and feed the hungry; volunteers ensure those in need have access to a hot meal and encouragement

    Connect is a respite program for those facing the early stages of memory disorders; training for volunteers is provided 

    Lazarus Ministry provides financial assistance with utility bills; volunteers meet with community members in need and Mondays at 1 PM; training is provided

    Reading Allies is an innovative literacy program that helps below grade-level readers in first, second, and third grade rise to grade-level standards

     

  • CHILDREN, YOUTH AND COLLEGE

    While we have dedicated staff working with each of these groups, there are a variety of ways you can be of assistance throughout the year, from the planning and execution of events to help with meals, teaching Sunday School, assisting with nursery and more.
