OLA Finance & Audit Committee Background

The Finance & Audit Committee is a newly merged committee combining the tasks of financial oversight with that of the audit preparation and review. Additionally, the Board made the change to remove the Council Treasurers from this committee as there are no longer financial budgets at the Council level, and make this a committee of members who choose to bring their financial acumen to the Board table to support the organization. The following questions and your responses will support the Board in making appointments to the Finance & Audit Committee.

Applications close November 19, 2025. Appointments will be announced in December following the Board ratification.

As this is the first year of this newly formed committee, and we intend to have some staggering of positions, do you prefer to be appointed for:

This committee will meet quarterly to review finances, as well as in audit prep and final audit recommendations (6 times) a year. In the first year, we may choose to meet up to 2 additional times, as financial policies and procedures may wish to be discussed and see changes in the OLA process as part of the recommendations of this committee.
