Criteria and Eligibility
The purpose of the OPLA Leadership in Adult Readers' Advisory Award is to honour excellence in readers' advisory service to adults.
Nominees for this award will be evaluated with the following criteria:
Must be a current OLA/OPLA member in good standing.
Has enhanced service to adult readers in their community.
Strong advocacy for readers' advisory services.
Active involvement in the public library profession.
Innovation in delivery of readers' advisory services.
Helping others acquire readers' advisory skills.
Nominees and nominators must be a member in good standing of OLA/OPLA.
Timeline
March 31: Nominations Due / Nominations deliberated and decisions made
Early April: Nominators/Nominees informed of decisions and picture of winner(s) requested
Early April: Final award presentation details known and provided to Nominators/Nominees
What to Include
Include information on the achievements for which the nominee should be honoured, including recognition received from peers and from others.
The detail provided should be sufficient to ensure the committee has a clear understanding of the nominees skills, service and leadership related to Readers’ Advisory and other important or key consideration.
Other inclusions can be letters of support, samples of their work, photographs, news clippings, etc.
