• Award of Distinction

    School Library Sector
  • The School Library Sector - Award of Distinction honour individuals or organizations outside individual schools or school boards which have contributed to school libraries and/or school library professionals with a significant impact over a sustained period of time.

     

    This award is given by OSLA Council to individuals or organizations which have made a significant impact in the school library field through at least one of the following:

    • encouraging a love of reading
    • support of the school library professional
    • school library advocacy campaigns
    • professional development for school library professionals
    • providing leadership in school libraries
    • support of the Ontario School Library Association
    • support of school library research
    • support of the Forest of Reading
    • the publication of handbooks, guidelines, and resource documents to support school library professionals
    • School library professionals, library coordinators, teacher-librarians’ associations, parent groups and friends of school libraries are eligible for this award.
    • As this award is meant to celebrate friends and supporters of school libraries who may be outside our membership, nominees do not have to be members in good standing of the OLA, nor do they have to be individuals or organizations based in Ontario or Canada.
