  • WOMEN

    Session I Options - 9:30am - 10:15am (Choose 1)

    • Anchored in the Lord | Rev. Barbara Wilder, Olive Branch Baptist Church - How do we navigate the journey through “trust God” moments? Amid unexpected challenges, illness, death, job loss/financial hardship, relationships ending, family/friends betrayal, loneliness, etc, our Lord is still in control. He IS Sovereign. We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure (Hebrews 6:19). The secret is truly abiding in His presence as the source of our strength. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning!
    • Becoming You | Elder Alaine Jackson, Cornerstone Baptist Church - Although we are daughters of the King, why don’t we act like it?  Now that we know better, why don’t we do better?  We need to end ungodly relationships, allow the Holy Spirit to control our tempers and tongues, let go of substances that defile our temples, have consistent prayer and study time, live with humility and integrity as servants and examples of Christ….but we don’t. Why?  Is this willful disobedience?  What is the key to living victoriously everyday?

    Session II Options - 10:15am - 11:00am (Choose 1)

    • Fan into Flame the Gift | Rev. Marilyn Gool, Victory Christian Center - The apostle Paul uses an interesting phrase in 2 Timothy 1:6: “I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you.” What is the gift of God in us? Why do we need to fan it into flame? And how do we do that?
    • What's In Your Temple? | Min. Alisha Blanding, Hopewell North East Missionary Baptist Church - Over-eating, excessive TV, no time for self-care, coffee/sodas multiple times a day, crazy busy, saturated in secular music, worry vs worship, Facebook/social media several hours everyday everyday, junkfood-junkie, no exercising, anemic prayer life / Bible study, consuming liquid courage, everything to everybody, etc. Does any of this sound familiar? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit? Then why do we abuse it so? Whether spiritually, physically or mentally, true wellness starts from the inside out.

    TEENS

    • Be KIND! (9:30am - 10:15am) | Micheala Brewer, Love and Faith Christian Fellowship - What should you do when you’re treated unfairly by mean girls at school, you’re in a car that encounters road rage, feedback on why you didn’t make the volleyball team doesn’t add up, the salesclerk follows you around the store as if suspecting that you might shoplift or ignores you while asking someone if they need help, the person behind you in the movie theatre keeps bumping your seat and talking/cursing during the show, you get yelled at by a family member for something you didn’t do….and the list goes on. When faced with confrontational, unpleasant and challenging situations, choose to be KIND - Keep calm, Invoke the Holy Spirit, Never forgot whose you are, Dig deeper to understand the real issue.
    • Odd Girl Out (10:15am - 11:00am) | Brianna Rodriguez, City of David Church - As Christian young ladies, what does the world see us reflect?  Is it ok to drink, smoke (anything), party hearty, tattoos, body piercing, premarital sex, abortion, etc. Facing peer pressure to be like others. The Bible says we are in the world, but not of the world. Are we really living as examples of Christ?

    Session III Only Option - 11:00am - 12:00pm
