  • Port Elgin Montessori Preschool (PEMP) offers a dynamic and engaging summer camp, inspiring young campers to explore, learn, and discover through hands-on activities in the Montessori tradition.

    Our Summer Camp is open to both current families and the public.

    Weather permitting, children will enjoy a daily walk to a local park in Port Elgin. 

    A light morning snack will be provided.

    *Campers are responsible to bring their own lunch and afternoon snack.

    Please note there is no fee change for Monday, August 3 (Civic Holiday). While the centre will be closed, staff wages and operating costs continue. Thank you for your understanding and ongoing support.

    Please note, we are legally required to release students to their parents. However, if you have a situation where one parent or other individual is not legally allowed to pick up a child by 'order of the court', please list below that person's full name, briefly explain the situation and provide the legal documentation with this Child Release Form at enrollment.     Please Note: If you do not provide an emergency contact in this section, please note that in the event we are unable to reach a parent/guardian within 15 minutes of the first call, the centre will proceed according to policy and may contact 911 (Emergency Services) and/or Children’s Aid Society (CAS).

  • I understand and agree to the following conditions of this contract:

    Participation Agreement:

    My minor child/children will only participate in activities that safely meet skill and ability levels.
    I understand that PEMP does not provide health insurance for me (and/or my child/children).
    I understand that a staff member will attempt to contact the parent, guardian, or emergency contact listed on the Enrollmment Form in case of illness or injury. I authorize these representatives to contact paramedics and/or take me/my child to a hospital and be given treatment by paramedics and hospital staff as necessary.
     

    Image/Voice Permission:

    Photographs or video/audio recordings may be taken of your child/children during this camp. Unless  you request otherwise, this Participation Agreement will be considered permission for PEMP to photograph, film, audio/video tape, record and/or televise your image and/or voice or the image and/or voice of your child/children for use in any publications or promotional materials, in any medium now known or developed in the future without any restrictions. If you object to please fill our the Picture Permission Form 'select NO'.

     

    1. Once my child’s application has been accepted, Parents or Guardians are responsible for the Full payment of the tuition as stated above. There are no refunds for withdrawals, and no refunds for holidays, sick days, or days missed for any reason, throughout the summer camp.

    2.Withdrawal Procedure: The School requires written notice of a student’s withdrawal; however, there will be no refund or transfer of the summer camp fees.

    3. Summer camp classes and programs offered are subject to change and / or cancellation at any time, and are offered subject to sufficient enrolment, as determined by the School. Should the School decide to cancel a program due to low enrolment, all fees paid to date shall be fullyrefunded without interest or penalty.

    5. If there are any overdue payments after services have been rendered, Port Elgin Montessori Inc. reserves the right to pursue collection through third-party claims or legal action.

    6. There is a late pick up charge which is applied at the rate of $50.00 per 30 minute after 4:30 p.m

    7.The School reserves the right to accept or reject this application and to expel a student at any time due to behavior. This includes the behavior of parents or guardians. The School has a zero-tolerance policy for abuse, including verbal and physical abuse.

    8. I understand that the safety of all the children is of primary concern. The provision of this service is conditional on both my child’s compliance with the Code of Behaviour and my treatment of the school and its staff. I understand that behaviour that poses a safety hazard for the other children of staff will not be accepted and could result in immediate withdrawal or temporary suspension of service, without a refund of fees.

    9. In the event of any mishaps, an emergency, the school has my permission to administer first aid or any appropriate emergency treatment in the best interest of the child. I agree to pay all expenses incurred due to an emergency involving my child.

    10. A student will not be accepted into the School unless the entire enrolment form has been completed in full and signed. Full payment, OHIP number or proof of health insurance, must accompany the enrolment form. New students must provide a copy of their Health Card or immunization documentation.

    11. I agree to the Terms of the Policy and Procedures outlined by Grey Bruce Public Health/ ministry of Education that are implemented at PEMP.

    12. If my child becomes ill (fever, flu, diarrhea, COVID-19 like symptoms) at home or at school, I will be responsible to make alternate arrangements for care until such time that my child is no longer contagious. Must be a minimum of 48 hours symptom free before returning.

    13. Parents and Guardians hereby acknowledge that the School is a nut/ peanut free environment. I/We understand that my child may inadvertently come into contact with a substance he or she may be allergic to and that such contact may cause an allergic reaction. I understand that there are certain risks of allergen contact that are inherent in a school setting.

    14. I agree to be responsible for any loss, damage or destruction by my child of any property of the School by paying the full replacement cost, including any applicable shipping and handling charges.

    15. If an adult (not parent/ gurdian) over the age of 18 years is to pick up your child, parents will take the responsibility of informing the school prior to your child's pick-up time. The Adult will have to show the school a form of identification, before the school feels comfortable releasing your child.

    16. I release Port Elgin Montessori Preschool from all liability for any accidents and illness that may occur while my child is in attendance, except for injury or illness occurring from negligence.

  • I/We have read the terms of enrollment for Port Elgin Montessori Preschool Summer Camp Contract and are in full agreement with the rules and regulations. My electronic signature below signifies that I have read and understand all aspects of this Agreement and do recognize my legal responsibilities in regard to this contract. All information in this application must be truthful and accurate. Providing false or misleading details will be considered fraud.
