Participants on this pilgrimage must be open to growing in their faith and discipleship through a variety of missional experiences, including, but not limited to speaking in public, working with African partners in small group situations, participating in events or service projects designed by our Malawian partners, and staying in the homes of members of local congregations in Malawi. As such, those who apply must have a level of maturity, the ability to speak clearly to their congregational leader as well as to the trip leader, and be open to trying new experiences and seeing God at work in different ways.
Please indicate below that your Session has reviewed the applications received and is forwarding this packet of applications with a willingness to vouch for the ability of each participant to encounter travel and cross-cultural experiences with grace and humility. This signature will also attest to your congregation’s willingness to help the team from your church raise funds and to help prepare for and debrief from the trip. Each church should plan on allowing the participants to lead in worship and other venues upon the return so that the entire congregation benefits from this pilgrimage. Lastly, the signature below will indicate that the church will be supportive in helping members raise funding for the travel.
