ANKENY FALL AND CHRISTMAS MINIS 2026

Fall minis will take place in Ankeny, and Christmas Minis will take place at Straughtman Tree Farm,58976 290th St
Cambridge, IA 50046

FALL MINIS will take place on October 3rd and 4th, 2026. Sessions are $250.00 plus tax and are 15 minutes long. The session includes 10 images. Minis are open to single families of up to 5 people. Additional sitting fee of $25.00 plus per additional person. Due to the time of the session, outfit changes are not allowed. Images will be provided within THREE weeks in a soft-proof form. The client will select favorites, and those chosen images will be selected. Additional images may be purchased.  Minis will be held unless it is impossible to photograph or dangerous. Please be flexible with your outfit choice in the case of cold or heat.  

CHRISTMAS MINIS  will take place on November 7, 2026. Sessions are $250.00 plus tax and are 15 minutes long. The session includes 10 images. Minis are open to single families of up to 5 people. Additional sitting fee of $25.00 plus per additional person. Due to the time of the session, outfit changes are not allowed. Images will be provided within THREE weeks in a soft-proof form. The client will select favorites, and those chosen images will be selected. Additional images may be purchased. Clients must be available for backup days on November 8th due to severe weather. Minis will be held unless it is impossible to photograph or dangerous. Please be flexible with your outfit choice in the case of cold or heat.

 Session Fees

• Client agrees to pay the photographer a retainer of $250.00 plus tax to reserve a mini session. This is a non-refundable retainer fee that goes toward your session. At the time the contract takes effect, Photography By Kimberly Murphy shall reserve the date and time agreed upon, and not make any other reservations or accept any other clients for said date and time. For this reason, if the client cancels the contract for any reason, all monies paid shall be retained by Photography by Kimberly Murphy to offset its loss of business. 

  The cost of the session covers the time and talent of the photographer, basic retouching, and creative editing of images, as determined by the photographer.   Additional editing is available at an additional expense to be determined by the photographer.  Additional prints or digital images may be available for purchase. 

   The gallery will be available for up to two weeks. To reload the gallery, there is a $50.00 fee. 

  HIGH-RES DIGITAL FILES WILL BE PROVIDED IN A GALLERY INCLUDED IN THE SESSION.  

•  Rescheduling

   If the client needs to reschedule for any reason, there will not be a refund issued. In case of emergency or illness, the Client may use the deposit towards a session/package at a later date at a regular cost. Due to the limited photography schedule in Ankeny, there is no guarantee on how soon you can be rescheduled. 

  SICK POLICY: PLEASE DO NOT BRING FAMILY MEMBERS SICK TO THE SESSION. IF THE CHILD HAS A FEVER, STOMACH FLU SYMPTOMS, OR OTHER SYMPTOMS THAT CAN LEAD TO THE SPREAD OF ILLNESS, YOU MUST RESCHEDULE IF IT IS WITHIN 24 HOURS OF YOUR SESSION. NO EXCEPTIONS. IF YOU BRING YOUR CHILD ILL TO YOUR SESSION, YOU WILL BE ASKED TO RESCHEDULE IMMEDIATELY. THIS IS TO PROTECT THE PHOTOGRAPHERS/ASSISTANTS AND OTHER CLIENTS COMING THAT DAY. PLEASE HELP BY FOLLOWING THE RULES TO AVOID SPREADING SICKNESS.

   Re-shoots / Refunds

  There are no reshoots for all mini-sessions.  Re-shoots will not be given for poor choices of clothing, make-up, hair, or weather-related issues, or for not following the recommendations of the photographer. The photographer is not responsible for missed moments. The photographer is not responsible for the child's cooperation.  The cost of packages only covers the photographer's time and talent. No refunds will be given on any packages. Once the client receives images, they may not exchange them for others.

   Archive

  After three months, all images will be purged from the photographer’s hard drive, except as needed for promotional purposes, to be determined by the photographer at the photographer’s sole discretion. The photographer is not responsible for loss or damage to the digital files due to circumstances beyond the photographer’s control.
  
  

  Model Release

  I hereby give to Photography by Kimberly Murphy the absolute and irrevocable right and permission with respect to the photographs that he/she has taken of myself and/or my minor child in which he/she may be included with others:

  a) To copyright the same in the photographer’s name or any other name that he/she may select;

  b) To use, re-use, publish and re-publish the same in whole or in part, separately or in conjunction with other photographs, in any medium now or hereafter known, and for any purpose whatsoever, including (but not by way of limitation) illustration, promotion, advertising and trade, and;

  I hereby release and discharge the photographer from all and any claims and demands arising from or in connection with the use of the photographs, including any claims for libel and invasion of privacy.
  
  

  Liability and Damages

  The photographer is not responsible for any injuries inflicted upon any participating parties on location or on photographers property. Client(s) will be responsible for their children and for themselves, and release the photographer from any claims against their person or their business.

  The client is responsible for any damage caused to the photographer's property and equipment, whether caused purposefully or accidentally. 

  The photographer is not responsible for the damage to portraits after delivery to the client, including damage caused during transit by US mail. Client assumes all responsibility for the safety of all portraits upon receipt. 
  
  

  Copyright & Penalty

  Photography by Kimberly Murphy retains all copyrights to all images created during the client’s session. A print release may be purchased with digital files to print portraits for personal use up to the designated size listed on the print release. The print release does not allow publication of your portraits (i.e., entering in contests), selling, or altering of your images without the photographer’s written permission. It is illegal to copy, scan, download, print, share, alter, or otherwise steal any image created by Photography by Kimberly Murphy during the client’s photo session. This applies to "sneak peek" images, images posted in an online proofing gallery, blog, Facebook, or hard copy images. If the client steals images via any method listed above, or any other method, the client will be invoiced for the cost of EACH digital image the client has stolen, at the photographer’s current price per digital file.
  
  

  Session Requests

  *Session starts at the agreed-upon time. Due to the amount of time allowed for a mini, any amount of time the client is late will be taken off the 15-minute slot. If more than 5 minutes late client is asked to reschedule or may not receive the full gallery. 

  *Please make sure hair is combed, and face is clean and free of runny noses or eyes.
