In the halls of St. Orion’s University, the sea is always calling. 

Elijah Griffin, Clara Goldstein, and Adrian Baynes were an unlikely trio — a literature student, a philosopher, and a historian bound by debates and the restless pull of the sea. 

Until one morning, Adrian is found dead by the cliffs. 

The coroner rules it an accident. His grieving parents protest in vain. Following a trail of scribbled Latin, cryptic wave codes, and the lure of forbidden knowledge, Elijah and Clara uncover signs of something older buried within St. Orion’s: a hidden order where doctrines are distorted, philosophies bent, and truth is preserved like the sea does her wrecks: buried in silence.

Stripped of their tails and magical powers, they are banished and dumped in Burgos, Pangasinan. But on land, trouble seems to swim straight to these funny, eccentric, and intuitive not-so-young women. Soon, they’re tangled in not one, not two, but three murder mysteries, each one leading them closer to the truth about who really got them kicked out of the sea.

With skills honed from a lifetime beneath the waves, and with a little help from Tomas—their overly confident but surprisingly useful young sidekick—they discover that small towns hide big secrets and royal scandals don’t stay buried forever. 

As the truth comes to light, they’re faced with the hardest choice: return to the sea they once called home, or stay in the human world that’s slowly become their own?
