    2026 PI PHI CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
  • Since 1911 when Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated was founded, “Scholarship” has been one of its cardinal principles. Hence, each year, the Pi Phi Chapter of Charlotte, North Carolina is pleased to offer scholarships to deserving high school seniors to pursue their dreams of higher education. Pi Phi Chapter is currently accepting applications for its 2026 scholarship award.

    The requirements are as follows:

    ● Must be a graduating African-American high school senior enrolled in a Mecklenburg County public, private or charter school

    ● Must submit an official copy of the high school transcript

    ● Transcript must be current and reflect student’s first semester

    ● Must present an official letter of acceptance to a two or four-year institution of higher education in the U.S. during the 2026 Fall Semester

    ● Must submit three separate letters of recommendation, from non-relatives that describe the applicant’s character, integrity, leadership, academic ability, community service, etc…

    ● Must write an essay (500 word minimum to 650 word maximum)

    ● Must submit a complete, signed and dated application which shall include all required documents, information and a recent photo

    ● Resume is strongly encouraged

    ● (NOTE)-Children/Grandchildren of members of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated are NOT ELIGIBLE TO APPLY for this scholarship.

    4. Grammar: Indent, subject/verb agreement, use of transitions, etc.

  • To qualify for this Pi Phi Chapter scholarship award, you must obtain three typed letters of reference. Each will be from a person (non–relative) who knows you and can speak to the caliber of the individual you are. Each different reference should be in a separate document.

    References will contain the following information:

    ● Name and address of the person providing the reference

    ● How long have you known the applicant and in what capacity?

    ● Examples of how the student exemplifies Scholarship, Perseverance & Uplift

    ● Include examples of character, academic ability and leadership ability which would justify why the student is deserving of this scholarship.
