• Life! Camera! Action! 2026

    Multimedia Creative Competition Registration Form
  • WHAT WE INHERIT. WHAT WE CARRY. WHAT WE HEAL.

Calling Guam's young filmmakers, photographers, artists, musicians, dancers, performers, and storytellers!

Life! Camera! Action! (LCA) is a multimedia creative competition inviting youth to explore mental health, the experiences and patterns we inherit, what we carry with us, and how we move toward healing—through creativity.

Open to Guam residents ages 12–24.

You do not need to have your idea figured out yet. This registration simply lets us know that you're interested in participating. You'll have time to develop your concept and create your work before the final submission deadline.

Selected works will be featured at Life! Camera! Action! during the Teen Expo on December 12, 2026.

    Create. Express. Inspire. Heal.

  • SECTION 2 — How Do You Want to Create?

  • About This Year's Theme

This year's Life! Camera! Action! theme is inspired by the idea of intergenerational trauma—the ways experiences, struggles, beliefs, behaviors, and emotional patterns can be passed from one generation to the next.

But what we inherit isn't only pain.

We can also inherit culture, traditions, resilience, love, creativity, values, stories, and strength.

Through What We Inherit. What We Carry. What We Heal., we invite you to explore what gets passed down to us, how those experiences can shape who we become, and what it can look like to grow, heal, or choose what we want to carry forward.

Your work can be inspired by your own experiences, someone else's story, your community, something you've observed, or something completely fictional.

You are never required to share personal trauma, a mental health diagnosis, or private experiences to participate.

You don't need to have it figured out yet.

Your idea can change as you develop your project. We're just curious about what you're interested in creating right now.

  • What type of creative work are you interested in exploring?*
  • Whatever medium you choose, your final entry will ultimately be presented as a 1–3 minute video.

  • Are you thinking about creating individually or with others?*
  • If you chose as a group/team, you will be required to submit all of your collaborators info when submitting your video submission.

  • SECTION 3 — Your Story

What We Inherit. What We Carry. What We Heal.
  • What speaks to you?

    LCA explores:

    WHAT WE INHERIT
The experiences, beliefs, traditions, behaviors, strengths, and struggles passed down to us.

    WHAT WE CARRY
The experiences, emotions, expectations, memories, and challenges that stay with us.

    WHAT WE HEAL
The ways we grow, change, connect, understand one another, and choose what we carry forward.

  • Which theme(s) are you most interested in exploring right now?*
  • Don't worry—this doesn't lock you into anything. Your idea can change.

    Video Requirements

All competition entries must be submitted as a video between 1 and 3 minutes in length and submitted in MP4/MOV, minimum 1080p, horizontal 16:9 preferred.

Your video can take many forms, including a:

Short Film • Documentary • Music Video • Dance Film • Spoken Word Performance • Animation • Experimental Video • Visual Art Presentation • Photography Presentation • Mixed-Media Piece

The goal isn't simply to make a traditional film. Use video as a tool to tell your story in whatever creative way works best for you.

Photography, Illustration, Painting & Visual Art

Photography, illustrations, paintings, and other static artwork are absolutely welcome—but they must be presented through video.

    Your video may showcase:

    • Behind-the-scenes footage of you creating your work
    • A montage or collage of your completed artwork
    • Details and close-ups of your work
    • Your creative process from beginning to end
    • Voice-over narration explaining your work

Your video should communicate the name/title of your piece, the meaning or story behind it, and how it connects to this year's theme.

The video presentation does not need to be professionally produced. Judges will focus on how effectively you communicate your creative idea—not whether you have expensive cameras, editing software, or equipment.

  • How Will My Submission Be Judged?
