The Pullman School District Board of Directors is seeking volunteers to fill the open positions on the DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging) Task Force. Volunteers will provide input and take on specific assignments related to DEIB. The Task Force will address DEIB issues relevant to the district and its schools and will submit their findings and recommendations to the superintendent and/or school board, following Policy and Procedure 4110.
Ideally, individuals will possess the following skills and characteristics:
- Collaborative: Team members having the ability to exercise empathy and build strong trust and communication among diverse identities.
- Self-Reflective: Ability to address one’s own personal prejudices/biases and participate in discussion regarding DEIB topics.
- Ability to Listen to Other Perspectives and Opinions: Ability to listen deeply and reflectively. Work together and promote trust and camaraderie.
- Commitment: Willingness to volunteer time and attend scheduled Task Force Meetings.
