As an Artist Member of Rails End Gallery you are eligible to place items on consignment in the Gallery Shop.

Please read our Consignment Terms and Conditions, check that you accept and use the Submit button to return the agreement as soon as possible. 

You have the option of completing an Artist Profile for us to share with Gallery Shop customers and on our website.  Our staff and volunteers know shoppers enjoy hearing about the Artists in the Gallery Shop. We will use the information your provide to help us provide the best shopping experience we can! 

WHEN YOU HAVE PROVIDED YOUR INFORMATION

This Agreement replaces any and all previous Consignment Agreements between the Artist and the Rails End Gallery Shop and remains in effect until cancelled by either Rails End Gallery Shop or The Artist. 

PRICING AND SALES

1. The Artist is responsible for setting retail prices for consigned items. HST is added on all sales. 
2. Commission rate paid to the Artist is 70%, regardless of any discounts the Gallery may offer, i.e. Member purchases or Seasonal Offers.
3. Consignment payments are issued quarterly (June, September, December and March).
4. Customer Shipping and handling charges may be added by the Gallery Shop as required. 
5. The Gallery Shop reserves the right to select consigned items for online and shop display and sale. 

MARKETING AND PROMOTION

1. It is the Artist’s option to complete and return the Artist Profile and keep it up to date by contacting the Gallery Shop.  
2. The Gallery is responsible for all marketing and promotion of the Gallery Shop, display of consigned items and/or online sales through Rails End Gallery. 
3. The Artist agrees to allow the Gallery Shop to use images of consigned items in promotional material. Credit to the Artist will be indicated.

RECEIPT OF CONSIGNED ITEMS

1. The Artist will make an appointment to drop off work.
2. Consigned items must be delivered in good condition ready for display and retail sale.
3. The Gallery reserves the right to refuse any items which do not meet this standard or are considered otherwise unsuitable.
4. The Gallery will provide the Artist with a list of consigned items upon delivery or by email at the earliest opportunity.
5. The Gallery will apply price tags/bar codes. Please do not apply your own pricetags to work.

RETURN OF CONSIGNED ITEMS

1. The Artist will provide 48 hours notice if they intend to remove consigned items from inventory.
2. To ensure a balanced retail environment in the Gallery Shop consigned inventory may be removed from display at Rails End Gallery’s sole discretion and timing. Works are typically held for no longer than 6 months.
3. The Gallery will notify the Artist by email when items have been removed from inventory. This notice will clearly indicate the *last date by which the items must be picked up.
4. *Items that are not picked up within 60 days of notification will become property of the Gallery. They will be considered to have been abandoned and will be sold for fundraising or disposed of at the Gallery's sole discretion.  

DAMAGED ITEMS

1. The Gallery is not responsible for damage to consigned items where such damage is a result of poor workmanship/material failure/construction flaws.
2. If a consigned item is rendered un-saleable for any other reason than above, the Gallery will pay the Artist the agreed commission amount (70% of retail price).

The Gallery Shop Volunteers and Staff strive to keep Artist Members information up to date and to give Rails End visitors an informed local shopping experience.
