“Arts and Science” is the theme of our Annual Salon Exhibition. 
 This year we invite our Members to explore the intersection of Arts and Science in our 2026 Annual Salon Exhibition. This year’s theme celebrates curiosity, experimentation, and discovery. We welcome works in all media that reflect, question or play with ideas from the worlds of art, technology, nature and innovation.

Enter by February 7, 2026 to be part of this dynamic community showcase.

This exhibition is open to Artist, General, Lifetime and Senior Members.

Saturday February 7, 2025 DEADLINE FOR ALL ENTRY FORMS ONLINE

When we receive your online entry your email will be added to the the list of participating Artists and we will send you an e-vite to share with your mailing list, friends and family and on social media. 

DROP OFF ARTWORK January 24,28,29,30,31 and February 4,5,6  from 11am til 4pm. Artwork must be: 

• ready to hang/display 
• dry 
• for sale (Rails End retains 30% commission on sales made as a result of the exhibition)
• wrapped for protection in storage
• If you are shipping work please email: info@railsendgallery.com to let us know estimated date of arrival. 

Saturday February 14  OPENING RECEPTION from 2pm til 4pm 

GENERAL INFORMATION

1. How to enter: Please complete this online form in advance. It streamlines intake of work and ensures we have the correct details for you. Let us know if we can help you.
2. How many pieces can you enter? Each Rails End Member is invited to submit ONE(1) original work of visual art, ceramics, glass, fibre, photography, original music, literature or digital media. Reproductions of original art are not permitted.
3. Your entry will respond to the exhibition title/theme:  "
4. Arts and Craft".
5. To help inform gallery visitors about your interpretation, process, materials and medium please include 250 words or less of text or verse that relates your work to the theme.
6. OPTIONAL - your CV - in pdf form (we will not edit or redo layouts) 
7. The Annual Salon raises funds for Rails End through a 30% commission on sales. ***All work must be offered for sale.***
8. Gallery visitors will be encouraged to vote once for their favourite work. The top three entries will be announced on Facebook/railsend and at www.railsendgallery.com  

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS 

1. Late entries will not be accepted.
2. Maximum perimeter for wall work is 152 inches. This includes the frame. For example 36" x 36"  = 144" inch perimeter;  16" x 20" = 72" perimeter. Perimeter may be measured by wrapping a string around the entire outer edge OR adding all four sides together i.e. 16 + 16 + 20 + 20 = 72
3. 3D objects and installations should be able to fit on a 36" x 36" footprint.

5. Only works completed in 2024, 2025 or 2026 are eligible for entry. 
6. Works consigned (past or present) to the Gallery Shop or previously exhibited at Rails End are NOT eligible for entry. 
7. Work must have proper hangers/wire, be clearly signed on the front or back; with date of completion, title, media on the back only.
8. Unframed work is acceptable provided edges are finished appropriately. As always, ask if you need advice. 
9. The image you attach to your application will be used for promotion and online. It must be high resolution and may be cropped at the discretion of the Curator. Ensure your image is in focus.  
10. Entry is open to all Rails End Members. Not a member yet? Complete your membership online at  https://railsendgallery.com/shop/ols/categories/membership or drop by the gallery in person. We appreciate all our Membership support and encourage you to spread the word about our public art gallery opportunities to your friends and family. Membership is valid until September 1, 2026.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. The Artist is responsible for transportation of the work to and from the Gallery.
2. The Artist will determine the sale price of each piece of work.
3. The Rails End Gallery & Arts Centre retains 30% commission on work sold. Payment will be issued on or before May 15, 2026.
4. The Rails End Gallery & Arts Centre will be responsible for the insurance of the full value of the work, less 30% gallery commission, from the time of its receipt until it is picked up by the artist or buyer.
5. The Rails End Gallery and Arts Centre is responsible for marketing activities related to the Members' Salon. We will supply an e-vite to all participants for their email list/website. 
6. The Artist permits the Rails End Gallery to use the image they provide in this form and/or to photograph work for archival, publicity, educational, online sales/exhibition, catalogue and reference purposes.
