    Wildfire Prevention Project
  • The Resource Conservation District of Tehama County (RCDTC) has partnered with the Mineral Firewise USA® Council to implement Phase I of the Mineral & Stringtown Hazard Tree Removal Project. This project will ultimately serve Mineral's Cool-Air, Lassen Alpine Village, and Meadowview subdivisions in addition to Stringtown to treat dead, dying, and diseased trees, and trees that violate defensible space code. The Mineral & Stringtown Hazard Tree Removal Project is a CAL FIRE CCI grant funded TinderSmart Tehama program available at no additional cost to residents.

  • An in-person site visit consultation between a TinderSmart Tehama Field Technician and landowner is required. The consultation will be scheduled for a site visit to occur on a Monday-Thursday. During the consultation the landowner will be notified of the trees classified as hazardous by a Forester and potentially selected for removal. Will you be available to schedule and attend the site visit with a Field Technician?
  • An in-person site visit between the RCDTC Forestry Team and the landowner is required. Site visits will be scheduled Monday through Thursday seasonally, as conditions allow. During the site visit, the Forestry Team will identify and select trees classified as hazardous for potential removal or treatment. Will you be available to schedule and attend the site visit with the Forestry Team?*
  • Please note, if the landowner is not satisified with the hazard tree(s) selected for removal during the site visit, then a second consultation will be required when time permits. This service is in high demand with limited seasonal work windows. Thank you for your patience.
