Total Square Footage of ICF Walls
To figure total square footage of a wall, multiple the total length of the wall by the height of the wall. If there are different wall heights, figure them separately and then add the totals together. 6” core is sufficient in most applications unless local code requires 8” core.
Total Vertical Feet Of Corners And T-Blocks
To figure the total vertical feet of a corner, simply add the height of the wall at each corner together. T-blocks are figuring the same way. If there is a short wall T-ing into a corner, add the height of the shorter wall to the T-blocks and the remaining amount of the taller wall to the corner tally.
MST Rebar
If you are unsure of a grid for flatwork, figure 15” of rebar per square foot. Remember to add extra for overlapping. For horizontal rebar in ICF, usually figure a row of #3 4EQfor every vertical foot of wall. Add an extra row so you can double the row in the top of the wall. Remember to add extra for overlapping. For vertical rebar spacing, figure a #5 bar every 18” for basements and main floor walls or every24” for frost walls. Remember rebar usually comes in 20’lengths.Remember to figure 3 rows of #3 4EQ in the footer. Remember to add a #3 4EQ corner for every corner or T in every row in the wall and the footer.
ICF Accessories Suggested Quantities
2” ICF Screws: 1-3 boxes per job. 3” ICF Screws: 1-3 boxes per job. Fiber Tape: 1 sleeve per job. SuperForm Logo Tape: 1-3 rolls per job. Use only on jobs that will require more than one pour of concrete in the ICF. Can Foam: 6-24 cans per job. Can foam gun cleaner: 1 per job. Rebar ties: 1-5 packs per job. Sopraseal caulk tubes: 1-4 per job. Primer for damp proofing: 5-15 gal per job
Tools Suggested Quantities
Hand saws: one per worker. Can foam guns: 1 for every 3 workers. Rebar tying tools: only used to tie the footer rebar usually. 1-3 is usually plenty. ICF puller: 1 if you want an easy way to unload ICF
Foam Board
We offer foam board in many different sizes, thicknesses and densities. Feel free to reach out for custom options or leave a note in this calculator. The SuperDeck panel is for concrete ceilings and floors. They have slots to slide 2x wood material into to give a fastening point for a ceiling below.
