  • There is no cost to enter a pot of chili into the competition but you must enter below prior to September 7th, 2023!

  • You may enter as many different kinds of chili as you would like. If you are entering in more than one category please fill out an entry form for each chili recipe that you are entering!

  • Rules:

    • Please bring your chili entry to the competition, piping hot and ready to eat in the foil pan with lid which will be provided to you by the event sponsor and bring your "ready-to-eat" chili to the event at Hogback Hill Park between 4:45 and 5:00 PM on Saturday September 9th. Tasting will start at 5:15 and the judging will start at 5:30 PM. 
    • Chili will be kept warm but we will not have the capability to "heat" the chili so please make sure it is as hot as possible upon arrival.
    • There is no charge to enter the Chili Competition and you must be a verifiable resident of the TrailMark community or be "invited" to enter by a verifiable resident of the TrailMark community.
    • Each chili entry can be entered into only one category but you may enter as many recipes as you would like.

      Categories are:
      • Traditional Red Chili
      • Green Chili
      • Non-traditional Chili (such as chicken, vegetarian, buffalo, white...)

    • The Firefighters of South Metro Station 19 from right here in TrailMark will be judging. There will be one winner per category.
      Each winner will be awarded a $50 gift card and the 2023 Chili Champion Title.
    • There will also be a “Fan Favorite” determined by votes from the “tasters” of the chili (one vote per person). Fan Favorite winner will be the overall favorite from all chilis in all categories entered. 
      The Fan Favorite winner will also be awarded a $50 gift card and the 2023 Fan Favorite Chili Champion Title.
    • Entries must be homemade and not purchased from a store or restaurant (you are on the honor system)
    • Entries will be anonymous to judges and tasters and must be entered online prior to the event NO LATER THAN SEPTEMBER 7TH.
    • Chili entries will be judged purely based on its merit meaning, NO special toppings (cheese, sour cream, etc...) allowed on chili being judged by the firefighters within each category. Toppings will however be available for tastings and OK for “Fan Favorite” voting.
