    • This application form may take approximately 20-60 minutes to complete. You are able to partially complete the application, save your progress, and return at a later time to complete and submit the application.

      Your data is being collected for SANS Training UK to run the Cyber Talent Academy. SANS are the data processor acting under the instructions of Allianz who is the Data Controller.

      SANS Training UK Ltd is collecting information including your name, resident country, age, email address, gender, telephone and mobile phone number, education history, employment status, together with information relating to your ethnic background (for monitoring purposes only). 

      Your data is being collected in line with SANS privacy policy: https://www.sans.org/privacy/ 

      SANS is a global company and data is processed within the US for the purposes of administering and delivering training. You can find more information on how SANS protects your information in the US through SANS main privacy policy. The international transfer of your data from the UK or EU adheres to GDPR and is transferred using the standard contractual clauses or an International Data Transfer Agreement, as appropriate. All references to EU citizens’ rights within SANS privacy notice also apply to UK citizens through the application of the UK GDPR.

      In line with the Cyber Talent Academy eligibility criteria, you may be asked to show proof of Citizenship or residence by providing a copy of your passport, birth certificate or document from your employer or government department. These documents will be reviewed as part of the selection process and then erased from our storage system.

      SANS is also collecting information for selection, monitoring, and evaluation purposes for Allianz who sponsor the Cyber Talent Academy. Your name, address, email address, and phone number will not be shared with Allianz and Charter of Trust. This data will be used for the purpose of analysis, selecting successful candidates, to monitor the success of the project and to ensure that there is fair access to the programme.

    • A reliable internet connection and any modern web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari) will be suitable.

      Operating System
      Your system must be running either the latest version of Windows 10, macOS 10.15.x or later, or Linux that also can install and run VMware virtualization products described below.

      CPU
      64-bit Intel i5/i7 2.0+ GHz processor
      Your system’s processor must be a 64-bit Intel i5 or i7 2.0 GHz processor or higher. To verify on Windows 10, press Windows key + “I” to open Settings, then click “System”, then “About”. Your processor information will be toward the bottom of the page. To verify on a Mac, click the Apple logo at the top left-hand corner of your display and then click “About this Mac”.

      RAM
      8 GB RAM (or more) is highly recommended for the best experience. To verify on Windows 10, press Windows key + “I” to open Settings, then click “System”, then “About”. Your RAM information will be toward the bottom of the page. To verify on a Mac, click the Apple logo at the top left-hand corner of your display and then click “About this Mac”.

      Hard Drive Free Space
      100 GB of FREE space on the hard drive is critical to host the Virtual Machines and additional files we distribute. SSD drives are also highly recommended, as they allow virtual machines to run much faster than mechanical hard drives.

    All application materials I submit to the SANS Institute are true to the best of my knowledge and ability.

    Any information that I submit to the SANS Institute will become a part of the permanent records of the SANS Institute and will not be returned to me. My data may also be shared with the official programme sponsor, the Department for Digital, Culture, Media, and Sport in line with the Privacy Notice.
