Privacy Statement
Your data is being collected for SANS Training UK to run Upskill in Cyber. SANS are the data processor acting under the instructions of the Department for Science, Innovation & Technology.
SANS Training UK Ltd is collecting information including your name, address, postcode, age, email address, gender, telephone and mobile phone number, photographic information, technical qualifications, education history, employment status and history together with information relating to your ethnic background (for monitoring purposes only).
In line with the Upskill in Cyber eligibility criteria, you will be asked to show proof of UK Citizenship or residence in the UK by providing a copy of your passport, birth certificate or document from your employer or government department. These documents will be reviewed as part of the selection process and then permanently erased from our storage system.

SANS is a global company and data is processed within the US for the purposes of administering and delivering training. You can find more information on how SANS protects your information in the US through SANS main privacy policy. UK citizens data is protected in association with standard contractual clauses used by SANS. All references to EU citizens’ rights within SANS privacy notice also apply to UK citizens through the application of the UK GDPR.
SANS is also collecting information for monitoring and evaluation purposes for the UK Government who sponsor Upskill in Cyber. This information will be provided in de-identified (anonymous) form to the Department for Science, Innovation & Technology. Your name, address, email address, phone number, and photographic information will not be shared with the Department for Science, Innovation & Technology, or Ecorys. This data will be used solely to monitor the success of the project and to ensure that there is fair access to the programme. If you are asked to provide additional evaluation information to Ecorys, who are evaluating the programme for the UK Government, this data may be linked to the information passed to the Department for Science, Innovation & Technology with your consent. Your data will not be used more widely than as set out above and shall not form the basis of any individual decisions relating to you.
As SANS are processing your data on a contractual basis for the Department for Science, Innovation & Technology, your right to erasure will not apply.
