The City of Santa Fe Arts and Culture Department is accepting applications from nonprofit arts organizations to host juried arts and crafts shows in Cathedral Park in the 2027 season. Individual artists are ineligible to apply.
Applications are due Friday, October 16, 2026.
Policy For Exhibitors:
Per City Resolution 2004-21, a total of six shows are permitted for the year, and each must be juried and limited to 30 vendor booths.
Shows are permitted on weekends (including Memorial Day Monday) between 10AM and 5PM.
No music or amplification is allowed, but programming can include artist talks, demonstrations and artist workshops.
Eligibility requirements: organizers must be based in Santa Fe city or county; exhibitors must be juried; organizers must have experience organizing outdoor shows on City property.
For those without prior experience, alternative ways to demonstrate event capability include:
1. Partnering with or getting a letter of endorsement from an organization that has successfully organized similar arts and crafts shows on City property.
2. Detailed Planning Proposal: Submitting a comprehensive and well-thought-out event plan that outlines how you will meet the requirements and handle logistics (booth management, artist curation, etc).
3. Experience in Similar Events: Highlighting experience in organizing other public events (e.g., indoor exhibitions, festivals, community fairs) that involve similar operational structures.
4. Hiring an Experienced Event Coordinator: Bringing on a team member or consultant who has previous experience with such events.
5. Strong Jury Process: Developing a rigorous, unbiased jury process for selecting participants, even if it's your first time organizing such a show.
Cathedral Park Event Costs:
1. $75 parks daily fee
2. $25 permit fee
3. $50 per hour administrative overtime fee
4. $150 clean up fee
5. $60 per day park supervisor fee
6. $15 vendor fee
7. $1M in liability insurance
8. Direct payment to a supplier by the organization for portal toilets
Applications must be submitted by October 15, 2026. A selection committee will evaluate all applications based on the written criteria below. A final selection will be announced by November 10, 2026.
Online submissions are preferred, but if desired, a printed copy of the application can be sent to or dropped off at the Community Gallery of the City of Santa Fe Arts and Culture Department, 201 W. Marcy St, Santa Fe, NM 87501.
