Dear Applicant:
Thank you for your interest in adopting from Save A Stray Rescue! We are a 501c3 non profit cat and kitten rescue located in Seaford, Long Island. All fees collected are tax deductible donations to the non profit and are used to care for our cats and kittens. Our mission is to Trap, Neuter and Return as many community cats as possible to reduce the feral cat population on Long Island and attempt to rescue as many adoptable cats and kittens and provide them with loving homes.
You are not purchasing a cat from us; you are adopting a cat that deserves a safe and loving home. Your application answers are assurance to us that our cats and kittens are going to a good, permanent home.
We do not use a first-come, first-serve process when adopting out our cats. Every cat is unique and we try to select the best home for them. The process is intended to ensure a long-term successful adoption for both the family and pet.
Cats can live for 15-20 years, so please make sure your lifestyle allows the time, patience, and financial ability to cover expenses your new pet will need over the years. Responsible cat ownership includes as-needed and routine veterinary care, quality food, litter, and other supplies. You must be at least 28 years old to adopt and live on Long Island within a 40 mile radius of our rescue.
All of our cats and kittens available for adoption are seen by a licensed veterinarian, we provide FeLV/FIV testing, spay/neuter, deworming, flea treatment, distemper and rabies vaccines.
