Welcome to the sign-up page for the Pro Bono Intellectual Property Fair Nov. 10th. Unfortunately, due to the high demand, we were unable to accept any more sign-ups. However, you are welcome to come to the Fair to check on last-minute availability. Note that there may be a wait to visit with an attorney and the wait time is unpredictable.
What to do when you get to the Pro Bono IP Fair
Please check in at the intake table. You will be given an Intake Form you need to fill out and a Representation Agreement to review and sign with your attorney.
How to get the most from your meeting
• This is a free, 30-minute consultation, but 30 minutes goes quick, so please focus on your most important questions.
• The attorney is not taking on your representation other than to give you advice in this 30-minute consultation, so ask questions that will help you help yourself.
• Others might be waiting in line, so please limit your time with the attorney to what is necessary.
• The attorney cannot draft a patent application for you in 30 minutes, so please don’t ask.
Where is the Pro Bono IP Fair
The UNM School of Law, 1117 Stanford Dr. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87106. Parking in the Law School parking lot is free.
For Drafting Patents: We at the Pro Bono IP Fair cannot draft a patent for you. However, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office coordinates a Pro Bono program that coordinates attorneys to draft patent application for people that qualify for the program. You can apply for this program at www.uspto.gov/ProBonoPatents.
Other Legal Matters: We at the Pro Bono IP Fair can only help you with Intellectual Property matters. Other free legal advice is offered at events in Albuquerque and around the State like Law-La-Palooza. See the website of organizations such as the State Bar of New Mexico and New Mexico Legal Aid for more information.
