SCB Foundation Scholarship Requirements

Applicants must be:

• Enrolled in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited (NAAB, CIDA, PAB) four- or five-year college or university for the entire upcoming academic year.
  
  
• In need of financial assistance to pursue their studies.
  
  
• Able to work legally in the United States and participate in a 3-month, paid summer internship at one of SCB’s offices (Chicago, Boston, San Francisco or Seattle).

SCB Foundation Scholarship Application Process

Application Materials:

• Applications must include:
  • A response (500 words maximum) to the prompt.
  • A statement describing financial need.
  • A resume including work experience, education, and community service activities.
  • A letter of recommendation from an instructor or dean.
  • A portfolio of design work completed by the applicant. (maximum 5 pages)
    
    

Application Process:

All applications must be completed and submitted through the online SCB Foundation Submission Form; materials received any other way will not be reviewed. All attachments should be in PDF format and should not exceed 10MB in size for each upload. Please upload only the requested and required documents.

SCB Foundation Scholarship – FAQ for Applicants

General Information:

•  Internships will be in-person at one of SCB’s office locations. The positions will be full-time during standard business hours for a 3-month period prior to the start of the 2025-2026 academic year.

•  Scholarship awardees may select the SCB office at which they will complete their internship.

•  Compensation for the internship will be hourly at current rates based on the region.

•  A stipend for living expenses or travel incurred during the paid internship is not provided.

• A recipient of the SCB Foundation Scholarship is not excluded from reapplying in subsequent years provided they continue to meet the scholarship criteria.
