2024-2025 School Year Lottery Enrollment Form for New Students
Welcome to Sandoval Academy of Bilingual Education.

Please complete this enrollment form to enroll your child in our lottery process. This is the FIRST step to register with SABE for the 2024-2025 school year. The lottery process is pursuant to federal law, 20 U.S.C. Sec. 722li and NMSA (1978) 22-8B-4.1
Lottery Process

Charter schools in New Mexico are required to use a lottery selection process any time that the total number of applicants exceeds the spaces available.

First priority for enrollment is offered to our returning students.
The second priority is extended to children of SABE staff.
The third priority is extended to the siblings of those returning students.
Once all deadlines for the returning and sibling students have been met, we determine the available spaces for each grade level.
Once we have those numbers, we determine if a lottery must be held. Based on the number of available spaces and the number of interested students. If there are more interested students than spaces, we hold the lottery. If there are sufficient spaces for all students, there is no need for the lottery and all students are accepted.
We will then contact parents or guardians via telephone and email with your Offer of Admission.

Acceptance of Offers of Admission must be done within 24 hours of receipt via telephone call and/or email.
Upon accepting your Offer of Admission, you will be provided with the link for registration and directions. If you do not contact that school within that 24-hour timeline you will forfiet your child's spot for enrollment.
Important Dates

Monday, March 13th, 2023: Lottery Enrollment Window Opens for New Students: Complete the New Student Enrollment Form to have your child entered for the May 11th lottery.
Monday, March 22, 2024: RETURNING, SIBLING & STAFF ENROLLMENT FORMS DUE
Wednesday, May 8th, 2024: Last Day to Submit your Lottery Enrollment form for NEW STUDENTS for the 2022-2023 school year
Thursday, May 9th, 2024: Lottery held via Google Meet.

2024-2025 School Year Commitment to Re-Enroll for Returning Students, Siblings of Returning Students, and Staff Children
Re-enrollment has begun for the 2024-2025 school year! Please complete this form to indicate your Commitment to Re-Enroll your child or children for the 2024-2025 school year, request enrollment of any siblings, or enroll your child, if you are a staff member. To secure re-enrollment and request enrollment for siblings and staff children, this form must be completed by Monday, March 27th, 2023. If we do not have this form completed by Friday, March 22nd, the open spaces will be open for the May 9th Lottery for incoming new students.

Please complete one for each of your children.

If there are no available spots for new siblings, the registrar will notify families by April 19th, 2024 that they will be placed on the preferred waitlist.

By signing this Commitment for Re-Enrollment form, I am acknowledging that my child will be attending SABE for the 2024-2025 school year. Should these circumstances change (i.e. moving from area, moving out of state, homeschooling, change in schools), I understand that it is imperative that I notify the school immediately to release my child’s position for those on the waitlist. Enrollment numbers directly impact the financial position of the school and the courtesy of notifying the school is required if you choose not to enroll your child @ SABE.I also understand that I do have to complete the annual registration packet to update all student demographics information and complete any additional forms requested by SABE by May 28, 2024.
