1. REGISTRATION FEE:
Upon initial enrollment at Showcase Dance Centre (“the Studio”), a non-refundable Registration Fee is required to secure placement in classes. This fee confirms the student's enrollment for the current dance season.
Rollover Registration Program
By enrolling and paying the Registration Fee, you are automatically enrolled in the Rollover Registration Program. This program ensures continued enrollment without interruption by automatically charging the Registration Fee for the upcoming dance season each year. Each year, on June 2, your account will be automatically charged the current Registration Fee using the payment method on file. This fee is non-refundable and subject to change with reasonable notice provided by the Studio. If you do not wish to continue enrollment for the upcoming season, you must submit a written opt-out notice by May 31 of that year. Failure to opt out by this date will result in the automatic charge being applied.
2. SHOWCASE DANCE CENTRE TUITION & PAYMENT AGREEMENT: By enrolling at Showcase Dance Centre ("the studio"), you agree to the following tuition and payment policies:
Payment Responsibility: It is your responsibility to maintain up-to-date billing information and to ensure the Registration Fee is successfully processed. Any failed payment may result in loss of class placement or incurring a late fee.Acceptance of Terms By enrolling in classes and submitting payment of the initial Registration Fee, you agree to the terms and conditions of this policy, including automatic re-enrollment and annual billing through the Rollover Registration Program.
Tuition Payment Terms: Tuition is billed in equal monthly installments and is due on the 1st of each month. Tuition is non-refundable and non-transferable, and remains the same regardless of the number of lessons in a given month.
Automatic Pay Requirement: Autopay is the required method of payment and must be set up through your Parent Portal upon registration. Tuition will be charged on the 1st of each month, or the previous business day if the 1st falls on a weekend or holiday.
Late Fees: If payment is not successfully made by the 10th of the month, a $15 late fee will be charged to your account. Late notices will not be sent. This policy applies to all account balances, including but not limited to: tuition, costume(s), deposits and balances, recital and competition fees, merchandise and other studio charges
Credit Card Authorization: By registering at SDC, you authorize the studio to charge your card on file for all tuition, fees, and balances due. If you are not the cardholder, you accept full responsibility for any charges made to the card you have provided.Credit card payments may also be made in person at the studio office or online through your Parent Portal.
Check Payments: If paying by check (when permitted), checks must be made payable to Showcase Dance Centre with the student’s name and purpose of payment written in the memo line.
Non-Refundable Fees: A non-refundable registration fee and the first month’s tuition are charged to your account upon enrollment. The studio does not send monthly statements.
Payment Responsibility Attendance and Billing: Any attendance within a given month constitutes an obligation for the full month's tuition. Missed classes are not credited or refunded.
3. CONVENIENCE FEES: All credit card and ACH (electronic check) transactions are subject to a convenience fee not exceeding the actual cost of acceptance. This fee is assessed to cover the processing costs incurred by Showcase Dance Centre and will be clearly displayed at the time of payment. By submitting payment, you acknowledge and accept this fee as part of your total transaction.
4. ALL TUITION AND FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE AND NON-TRANSFERABLE. This applies to all programs and purchases, including but not limited to: regular class tuition, summer camps, workshops, private lessons, birthday parties, costume fees, competition fees, recital fees, merchandise and apparel.
5. CLASS CANCELLATION BY PARTICIPANT / 30-DAY DROP POLICY: To cancel a class enrollment, a written 30-day notice must be submitted to the Studio. This notice must be provided via email or in writing and acknowledged by Showcase Dance Centre to be valid. Tuition remains due during the 30-day drop period, regardless of attendance.
No refunds or credits will be issued for any studio fees, including but not limited to registration fees, recital fees, or costume fees. Verbal or informal notice (including telling an instructor) will not be accepted.
6. CLASS CANCELLATION BY SHOWCASE DANCE CENTRE (SDC): Showcase Dance Centre reserves the right to terminate this agreement at any time at its sole discretion. Grounds for termination may include, but are not limited to:Breach of contract by the participant or their representative, Disputes that disrupt the studio environment, Defamatory behavior or actions that negatively impact SDC, its staff, or its community. If SDC terminates this agreement for any reason listed above: No refunds will be issued for registration fees, tuition for services already provided, competition or convention fees, or fees for merchandise or other items already received. The participant agrees to be responsible for all court costs and/or attorney fees incurred by either party, should legal action become necessary.
7. PRORATED CLASSES: Prorated tuition is only available to new students who enroll after the first scheduled class day of a given month. In such cases, tuition for that initial month will be calculated according to the number of remaining class days. Beginning with the first full month following enrollment, the student will be charged the regular monthly tuition rate. For all other students, tuition is calculated on the basis of the studio’s annual instructional calendar, which distributes the total yearly cost evenly across 11 equal monthly installments. Consequently, monthly tuition remains the same regardless of the number of lessons in any particular month, and no additional prorations, credits, or refunds are provided for holidays, scheduled closures, absences, or missed classes.
8. Private Lesson Cancellation Policy: Students must provide a minimum of 24 hours' notice to cancel a scheduled private lesson. Cancellations must be made via telephone or email on the day prior to the scheduled lesson. If proper notice is not provided, the credit card on file will be charged the full standard rate for the missed session. No make-up lessons or refunds will be offered for missed or canceled private lessons without 24-hour notice. Repeated late cancellations may result in loss of private lesson privileges at the discretion of the studio.
9. MISSED CLASSES POLICY: No refunds or discounts will be issued for missed classes. Missed classes may only be made up if there is an age and level-appropriate class available and with prior approval from the Studio. All makeup classes must be completed within the same calendar month the absence occurred. A maximum of two (2) makeups per month is allowed. No makeup classes are offered between April and June, due to recital preparation and limited class availability.
10. INCLEMENT WEATHER: In the event of inclement weather, Showcase Dance Centre will notify families of any closures via email, text, and social media. Weather-related cancellations will not be refunded but may be eligible for a makeup if a class of similar age and level is available.
11. DANCE SHOES & ATTIRE POLICY: All students are expected to wear appropriate dance attire that allows for safe and unrestricted movement. Proper dress and footwear are essential to the dancer’s development, discipline, and safety. No toys, food, or drinks (except water) are allowed in the classroom. Proper dance shoes and attire are required for each class. The correct style, color, and brand of shoes, as well as required attire for each dance style, are listed on the Studio Information page of our website. Failure to wear proper dancewear or shoes may result in the dancer being asked to observe class.
12. WAITING AREA POLICY: To ensure a safe and respectful environment for all dancers, families, and staff: Students should arrive no earlier than 10 minutes before their scheduled class time. Students must be picked up within 5 minutes of class ending unless prior arrangements have been made with the studio. The waiting area is a quiet zone. Please be courteous and avoid loud conversations or distractions that could disrupt ongoing classes. Children must remain inside the building while waiting for pickup. For their safety, students are not permitted to wait outside without a parent or guardian present.
13. PARENT OBSERVATION POLICY: To maintain a focused and productive learning environment: Parents and guardians are asked to remain outside the classroom during all classes to minimize distractions for the dancers and instructors. Photos and videos through the observation window are strictly prohibited, as not all students have granted permission to be photographed or recorded. Observation weeks or special performance opportunities may be scheduled throughout the year and will be communicated in advance.
14. END-OF-SEASON RECITAL POLICY: Showcase Dance Centre’s End-of-Season Recital is a highly anticipated and prestigious event that highlights the growth, commitment, and accomplishments of our dancers. Participation in the recital is a privilege and is not guaranteed. Recital eligibility is determined at the sole discretion of SDC and may be impacted by attendance, conduct, or overall readiness to perform. Students who miss multiple classes may be deemed ineligible to participate, as consistent attendance is essential to learning choreography and preparing as a team. SDC reserves the right to withdraw recital participation for any student if it is determined that continued involvement would compromise the integrity of the performance or the safety and preparedness of the dancer. A decision to participate must be confirmed by December 1 of the current season. This ensures timely planning, choreography placement, and costume ordering. New students who enroll after December 1 must make their recital participation decision at the time of enrollment. Failure to commit at that time may result in exclusion from recital choreography and preparations.
15. PARENT PORTAL ACCESS & USE: All active families have access to their account at any time through the Showcase Dance Centre Parent Portal, which is available via our official website. The Parent Portal is a secure platform. All information provided is password-protected and encrypted to protect your privacy.Through the Parent Portal, you may: Enroll in classes, Update credit card or billing information, Make tuition and fee payments, Report student absences, Update contact and personal information, View account balances and class schedules. Families are responsible for ensuring that their information remains up to date in the Parent Portal and for checking it regularly for important studio updates and billing notifications.
16. COMMUNICATION: Showcase Dance Centre communicates important information—including studio news, events, performances, weather closings, and holiday schedules—through the following channels: Email blasts, Facebook and Instagram, Text messages and phone calls when needed. To ensure classes run on time and without disruption, please direct all questions to instructors via email, text, or phone rather than during class transitions. Our instructors teach back-to-back classes and may not be able to respond immediately, but will follow up as soon as possible. Class placement and advancement are based on skill, readiness, and instructor discretion. Any advancement must be approved by the instructor or studio director.
