SJ Championships Performing Arts Online Festival Rules

16TH-17TH NOVEMBER 2024

1. Performers/duets/trios and groups may enter as many or as few categories as they wish.

2. The age of each performer will be taken from 16TH NOVEMBER 2024

3. Proof of age may be asked for. Any entries under the age of 18 will require parental consent.

4.WE HAVE TWO OPTIONS AVAILABLE
1) VIDEO SUBMISSIONS ONLY.
PLEASE CLEARLY ANNOUNCE THE NAME/S OF THE PERFORMER/S OR GROUP
ALONG WITH THE CATEGORY COMPETITION NUMBER. ALL SUBMISSIONS MUST ARRIVE VIA VIDEO SUBMISSION BELOW OR WE TRANSFER BY THE CLOSING DATE OF SATURDAY 9TH NOVEMBER 5PM. NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED.

EACH EVENT SHOULD HAVE A NEW VIDEO NOT PREVIOUSLY USED IN ANY OTHER SJ PROMOTIONS EVENTS

2) LIVE ONLINE ENTRIES, THESE ARE TO BE VIA ZOOM AT A SET AGREED TIME

5. Dance School logos/outfits are NOT permitted to be worn at any time. This is to prevent
any conflict of interest for all parties concerned.

6. DRAMA, MUSICAL THEATRE, SONG AND DANCE
All work must be performed FROM MEMORY. Reading from scripts/singing from
sheet music etc is not permitted.

6.5 DRAMA, MUSICAL THEATRE, SONG AND DANCE (S.E.N.D) Where possible work
should be presented FROM MEMORY. Reading from scripts/singing from sheet
music etc is permitted where necessary.

7. Costumes, make-up and props permitted in all categories where appropriate.

8. The scheduled dates for the adjudication is Saturday 16TH & Sunday 17TH November 2024. Results will be emailed within 5 days of the scheduled event date.

9. SJ promotions will appoint an independent Adjudicator/s who have many years of experience within the industry. However more may be added as needed with the scaling of applicants. Each Adjudicator will be assigned to a particular style(s) and age group(s).

10. Following each adjudication, results will be collated by SJ Promotions after which they will be published on our SJ Promotions Facebook page/ Website. This will take place once results have been emailed to all participants.

11. All sections will run regardless of entry numbers. Even if only one performer is registered to take part in any given style they will still be watched and assessed. Everyone deserves a chance.

12. The decision of the Adjudicator’s is final. No discussion will be entered into regarding their final decisions.

13. ALL performers will receive an e-certificate/report of participation and an Award (Groups will receive a trophy).

14. ALL places will receive an Award. These will be posted to the participant(s) within 3 weeks of the event.

15. Please note that names on all certificates will be taken from the entry forms submitted. Please ensure they are correct, amended/replacement certificates will be charged for.

16. All entries are subject to the approval of SJ Promotions the organiser. All rights reserved.

17. The closing date for all video submissions will be Saturday 9th November 2024 5pm No late entries will be accepted.

20. Entrants will be expected to film their performers in a suitable environment for all dance/drama and email them across by the closing date Saturday 9th NOVEMBER 2024 5pm.

21. Time limits must be adhered to. Any performance over time may be penalised at the Adjudicator’s discretion.

For insurance purposes;

Where pre-recorded video entries are sent and for Live Adjudication the
Parent/Guardian/Teacher/School assumes all responsibility for choreography
and welfare of the applicant.

SJ Promotions will not be liable for injury.

 

Photography and filming consent form

SJ Promotions will not upload photographs, video or other images of young people without consent. If the child is under 16, consent must be obtained from a parent / carer.

(If the child is over 16, it’s good practice to inform parents that photographs and/or videos of their child may be used if the child has given consent.)

SJ PROMOTIONS will take all steps to ensure these images/videos are used solely for the purposes for which they are intended. If you become aware that these images are being used inappropriately, please inform us immediately.

SJ Promotions Safe Guarding Policy 2024
For all Online Performing Arts Festivals

*All video entries that have been submitted to SJ Promotions through Email,
What’s App or Google Drive will be temporarily stored on an SJ company
laptop, phone or USB drive unless placed and permission form has been signed.

*Before any pre recorded entry is Adjudicated a pre recorded video entry
waiver form must be completed by the school/parent/legal guardian.

*Before any live Adjudicating is to take place a terms and conditions formmust be completed by the school/parent/legal guardian.

*All persons handling video content/data will be DBS checked & Safe guarding trained.

*Any entries under the age of 18 will require parental consent.

*Once adjudication has taken place and after all entries have received
results, report forms, medals, rosettes and trophies SJ Promotions will then
delete any video not placing in accordance with data protection and privacy and notify the school, parent, legal guardian via email.

*Video entries that have placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd and Judges choice awards will
be stored long term and only used for promotional or showcase video clips
which will be posted on social media / SJ Promotions website with the
completed signed paperwork from parents/legal guardian.

*Any live adjudication that takes place over Zoom must have a teacher orparent/legal guardian present in the room.

*Entries will not be named in videos posted in any of our social media pagesor the website.

*Entries will not be named in photos posted to any social media site or thewebsite.
