Objectives of Treatment

REST POSTURE - To utilize proper resting posture of the tongue, lips, jaw, and neck with little to no compensations.NASAL BREATHE - To breathe through nose day and night, utilizing diaphragm, clearing nose when needed.OVERALL BODY POSTURE - To sit and stand with optimal body posture for the majority of the day.RESPIRATION - To breathe light and right, utilizing the diaphragm in lying down, sitting and standing positions.LIP COMPETENCE - To create a stable lip seal with no tension at restCLEAR TEETH - To effectively use tongue to clear exterior margins of all teeth without excessive use of the mandible and strain on the TMJ.CHEWING - To evenly chew on both sides (alternately, rotary chew) using molars and lateralize a cohesive bolus; collect and centralize bolus for proper swallow without compensations in the lips or cheeks.SUCTION - To effectively suction liquids and solids (bolus) onto the central portion of the tongue; create contact with gumline and trap liquid/bolus without spillover.SWALLOW LIQUIDS - To use proper suction techniques and, with a peristaltic wave, swallow liquid with minimal aeration and no jaw, cheek, or lip compensations.SWALLOW SOLIDS - To use proper suction techniques and, with a peristaltic wave, swallow bolus with minimal aeration and no jaw, cheek, or lip compensations.VOICE QUALITY - To reduce strained/strangled voice quality and vocal fatigue to an optimal relaxed voice quality with normalized stamina.VOICE RESONANCE - To reduce/eliminate hypo/hypernasality to voice resonance to an optimal leveled resonance.VOICE PITCH - To achieve optimal pitch in a safe and meaningful way.NOXIOUS HABITS - To eliminate all noxious habits and replace with proper function.ARTICULATION - To articulate all age-appropriate sounds at the conversation level with 90% accuracy.PILL SWALLOWS - To swallow pills with proper tongue tip to alveolar ridge with peristaltic movement and no gagging or choking.WOUND HEALING - To encourage/lengthen vertical, smooth healing of the procedure site.Other

Please call and schedule.
