Welcome to the Snohomish Block Party Battle of the Bands Entry Form! We are excited you are here. Please fill out the form below and hit 'Submit Form' for your band to be considered for the Battle of the Bands competition, happening at the Helios Ballroom on Avenue D, Snohomish, on Saturday, May 20th, 6-9 ish PM.
From the entries we receive, the Snohomish Block Party Judge Panel will select up to 8 bands to move on to The Battle of the Bands competition at the Helios Ballroom. Each band who makes it to the competition will get to perform 2 songs on stage for the Judge Panel.
Bands of all genres are welcome to apply. They will be judged based on the following criteria:
- Preparedness
- Skill
- Originality
- Stage Presence/Confidence
- Presentation
The winning Band will receive a spot (up to 45 minutes) on the Snohomish Block Party Street Fair Side Stage (in Downtown Snohomish, Saturday, August 26th, sometime between 3 and 6 PM) + Free tickets to the Snohomish Live Main Stage Concert at the Snohomish Carnegie (Saturday, August 26th, 6-10 PM) + MORE!
1st Runner up will receive Free tickets to the Snohomish Live Main Stage Concert at the Snohomish Carnegie (Saturday, August 26th, 6-10 PM).
General Rules:
- Entries due by May 18th. Groups chosen to move onto the competition will be notified via email.
- The majority of Band members MUST be aged 21 years of age or younger (we will allow up to 1 member to be older than 21 on a case-by-case basis).
- Your full band must be available on BOTH Saturday, May 20th, 2023, between 4 and 10 PM, AND on the date of the Block Party - Saturday, August 26th, between 3 and 6 PM and must arrive to the Snohomish locations on time.
- Band name and lyrics of performance songs - for both BotB and for Snohomish Block Party set - should not contain any obscenities (keep it PG-13 rated or less, please), or be offensive to any group of people.
- You must submit either an audio file and/or a video file of a performance by your band for consideration.
- All bands agree to have their name, voice, and/or likeness used in any advertising or broadcasting material relating to this contest without compensation or rights to royalties for such use.
- The use of any illegal substances will not be tolerated. If any band member is suspected to be under the influence of an illegal substance, the entire band will be disqualified.
- All participants are required to be courteous and respectful toward other participating musicians.
Equipment and Onstage Rules:
- Participating Band will be informed prior to May 20th, what equipment will be provided.
- Band members are responsible for the security of their equipment.
- Each band will be given the opportunity to play 2 songs.
- Songs can be original or cover songs. Any genre acceptable.
- There will be a strict time limit of 15 minutes for each band on stage. This includes set-up/sound check/tear-down. Please plan your songs accordingly.
- While one band is playing, the next band will start getting ready to set up in the background, however, please be quiet and respectful of the performing band.
- Bands may not use pre-recorded sound material. All bands must play live.
