Welcome to the NORTH SOUND Young Adult Battle of the Bands Entry Form! We are excited you are here. Please fill out the form below and hit 'Submit Form' for your band to be considered for the Battle of the Bands competition, happening at Kings Hall at APEX Art & Culture Center, 1611 Everett Avenue, Everett, WA on Saturday, June 22nd, 6-10 PM.
From the entries we receive, the Snohomish Block Party Judge Panel will select up to 8 bands to move on to The Battle of the Bands competition at Kings Hall. Each band who makes it to the competition will get a 20 minute time slot on stage in front of the Judge Panel and guests.
Bands of all genres are welcome to apply. They will be judged based on the following criteria:
- Preparedness
- Skill
- Originality
- Stage Presence/Confidence
- Presentation
The winning Band will receive a spot (up to 45 minutes) on the Snohomish Block Party Snohomish Live Mainstage (in Downtown Snohomish, Saturday, August 24th, sometime between 12 and 3 PM) + Free tickets to Snohomish Live + MORE!
1st Runner up will receive Free tickets to the Snohomish Live Mainstage Concert at the Snohomish Carnegie (Saturday, August 24th, 12-10 PM) + other prizes.
2ns Runner up will receive mention + other prizes.
All contestants will receive commemorative Battle of the Bands t-shirts.
General Rules:
- Entries due by June 8th. Groups chosen to move onto the competition will be notified via email.
- All Band members MUST be aged 22 years of age or younger.
- Band name and lyrics of performance songs - for both BotB and for Snohomish Block Party set - should not contain any obscenities (keep it PG-13 rated or less, please), or be offensive to any group of people.
- You must submit either an audio file and/or a video file of a performance by your band for consideration.
- All bands agree to have their name, voice, and/or likeness used in any advertising or broadcasting material relating to this contest without compensation or rights to royalties for such use.
- The use of any illegal substances will not be tolerated. If any band member is suspected to be under the influence of an illegal substance, the entire band will be disqualified.
- All participants are required to be courteous and respectful toward other participating musicians.
Equipment and Onstage Rules:
- Participating Band will be informed prior to June 22nd, what equipment will be provided.
- Band members are responsible for the security of their equipment.
- Songs can be original or cover songs. Any genre acceptable.
- There will be a strict time limit of 20 minutes for each band on stage. This includes set-up/sound check/tear-down. Please plan your songs accordingly.
- While one band is playing, the next band will start getting ready to set up in the background, however, please be quiet and respectful of the performing band.
- Bands may not use pre-recorded sound material. All bands must play live.
